I amused my daughter by doing this (after she pledged). I had a fresh manicure. She was, I think impressed.
I did something similar. For us it was three times as we rotated the match. Oh and brothers held the match while the pledges recited the alphabet.

My record is 6 times with the match lit right side up. I've never done it upside down. Ouch!

Back on topic - to the OP - did you have weekly quizzes? If you pass the weekly quizzes, I would imagine that the info would be on the tip of your tongue. We had to pass our weekly quizzes.

Three times? I am impressed. But then again, you weren't endangering a manicure.

No, but I felt sorry for the brothers who walked away with burned fingertips when I was still learning it.

Ding ding ding. We have a winner.

If you were THAT sick, then you should have kept your sorry ass in bed.

I think it's an amazing leap for medical science when someone can be diagnosed with pneumonia and swine flu yesterday and ready to re-take their new member test today. Alert the NIH.

LOL. I think I could probably do it 3 times if I really tried. Incidentally, saying it backwards is a great way to take your mind off what's happening during your yearly exam.

Nope. Standard, out-of-the-box match.

MysticCat: I pay homage to that ability! (But did you have a fresh manicure? Oh wait, that would give more incentive to say it fast).

Just as I am proud to say I could rattle off the Greek alphabet 5 times before the match burned up, I am proud to say that I have never had a manicure.

Just wanted to say that people (OP) should really create new user names when they come on here, instead of using something that they use over the internet.

And if you are going to make it that easy to find out practically anything about you, at least exercise some discretion. This post isn't the type of info that needs to be out there.

Just a suggestion.

Good for you for figuring out why I think she's such a squicky person. I'm only thankful that we don't have a chapter at her school so I don't have to worry about her becoming my sister.
