I think what types of ballots, etc. should be left up to the localities. They can't all afford computers. We had the scantron type ballots and I think these are ideal. They were able to just set up additional cardboard dividers to accommodate more voters when the lines were getting out of control. You could quickly double how many spots were available. The machine scans and tabulates them as you put your ballot into it so at the end of the night, they print out a report and turn it in.

I think I've used 3 or 4 different types of ballots. Today, we used fill in the arrow. When I was in Pittsburgh I used the touch screen method. When I was in college I voted absentee, and then in my home town we had the booths with the lever.
I like to vote, no matter which way. I was excited all day as I waited for live-in to get home from work so we could vote together. I guess it was good we went together - he needed someone to vouch for his registration!

I always liked the punch ballots.
It looks like it will be over sooner than I thought.

I can't really get too excited about this election. My Presidential vote doesn't really matter one way or another as my state is going to be handily won (and will be for the foreseeable future) by the Republicans.
I've been fairly active (as much as I can be) in promoting my favorites for semi-obscure state offices, and yes, I want to see some changes there. For those familiar with Oklahoma, I'm in favor of Dana Murphy and Charles Gray for the Corporation Commission [a quasi judicial/legislative/executive board of 3 individuals which oversee all of the state's public utilities and freight carriers]. I think the current officeholders (excluding Anthony) are both bought and paid for shills of a certain natural gas provider and another certain telecommunications company. There may be one person on this board who has an inkling of what I'm talking about... and she'll probably disagree with me vehemently

Murphy has admitted she fraudulently notarized a legal document that she was signing. She's also been bought and paid for by the industry that she supposedly wants to regulate.

Can I just say that I am so glad that things are coming to an end? Elections are always so tough here in Ohio and I've just been so sick of the negativity on both ends. I'm just so excited for things to simmer down and for people to return to normal social interactions. Seriously.
Now let's see what he does.
