In the Atl. Journal today, there was a mag called The Ultimate Guide to Atlanta.
On the back inside page is an ad for the University of West Georgia.
One of the pics is an Alpha Gam (Gamma Tau). She's wearing a purple Bid Day shirt. I had to get out my magnifying glass...I think it says 2000...hmmm She was taking someone's blood pressure so I guess she was a nursing student.

In the local paper's religious section, there was a pic of the new pastor at the Moreland First United Methodist church and his family. His wife is a chapter sister, forrmer roomie. She looks exactly the same 30 years later!
Wish I could say that, lol.
BTW, for those of who are fans of the late Southern humorist (and the Sugarbaker bro on Desgning Women) Lewis Grizzard...he grew up in Moreland.

Shari Lewis
Hi Everyone!
For the longest time, a bunch of the girls from my chapter & I kept hearing that Shari Lewis (from Lambchops) was an Alpha Gam. One of my collegiates and I acutally stayed up til like 3am googling to try to figure out which chapter she was from. (yes i know that is silly of us...) Can anyone out there verify that she is an Alpha Gam & which chapter she was from?
Thanks!

I'm thinking someone got her confused with:
Fran Allison (Levington)* Pi Star of “Kulka, Fran and Ollie,” radio and TV star (from the Accomplished Alpha Gam section of alphagammadelta.org)
I'm sure if Shari Lewis was an Alpha Gam, it would be on that page.

*crashing*
In Glamour magazine this month, there's an article called "The Rising Stars," with mini profiles of eight different women running for office this year. Judy Baar Topinka is one of them.

OOPS!
Mean Squirrel Attacks Pa. Letter Carrier
By Associated Press
Wed Nov 1, 2:12 PM
OIL CITY, Pa. - Letter carriers occasionally have to deal with angry dogs or maybe even a spider's nest in a mailbox, but a mean squirrel? Barb Dougherty, a 30-year Postal Service employee, said she was attacked and bitten Monday by a squirrel while delivering mail in Oil City, about 75 miles north of Pittsburgh.
"It was a freak thing. It was traumatic," Dougherty told The Derrick in Oil City. "I saw it there on the porch, put the mail in the box and turned to walk away and it jumped on me."
The animal ran up her leg and onto her back, she said.
"I eventually got a hold of the tail and pulled it off me," Dougherty said. "No one was home at the house where I was delivering the mail, but the neighbor lady heard me screaming and came over."
An ambulance took Dougherty to the hospital, where she was treated for cuts and scratches. The squirrel was killed with a BB gun and sent to a lab to be tested for rabies. Dougherty was given the first series of rabies shots as a precaution.
Postal officials said the attack is extraordinary.
"In about 230 years of postal history, I bet it is not the first, but I've personally never heard of another squirrel biting," said Steve Kochersperger, spokesman for the Erie district.
Squirrels do not frequently bite people, said Regis Senko, who works for the Pennsylvania Game Commission.
Steve Jolley, a Postal Service manager in Oil City, said, "We are not issuing a squirrel alert, but everyone is aware of the incident."

This article came up when I googled Alpha Gamma Delta today...
http://www.jconline.com/apps/pbcs.dl...0357/1152/NEWS
In a nutshell, the Purdue chapter arranged for a symposium regarding the genocide in Darfur. Sounds like it was going to be a pretty big event, from reading the article.

Gamma Tau in UWG Fall 2009 Perspective Mag
Dawn Dininger, Gamma Tau -- Article in the Univ of Georgia Fall Perspective
.... For Dawn Dininger ’94, there is no such thing as a typical day on
the job. That’s probably because her career is as far from ordinary as you
can get. As a special makeup effects artist, she plays a part in crafting many of the creatures, monsters and superheroes that pop up on movie screens all over the world.
