I emailed IHQ C & C and asked about more information about Zeta who are in trouble and why, expansion. via Colony or Re-Chartering closed Zetas.
I complained about it getting back to Highlighting Grand Alums. It was passed on to me that it is better to put positive spin rather than negative.
I also said that there are many Alums who would like to know the info as We do spend money with Local Zetas and IHQ.
If it gets back to We are neato and dont explain what is going on then what?

One of the better ones!
Mike Raymonds Harry S Truman article was really enjoyable as I knew Harry (Brother) Truman, but was before I became a LXA.
Also has a Pix of our New House and Yard Sign that two Brothers put together.
Thanks Mike, cannot wait to see the Warren Cole article.

The September, 2006 Cross and Crescent Magazine has Arrived
Brothers,
The latest issue of the C&C Magazine was released as promised and on time! Please take some time and give it a read.
A special "thank you" to Jono for his research that clarified and corrected a few important points in the "history" article.
Thank you good Brother Jono!
Tom, I think that you will like this article's material on Doolittle and Truman.
By the way, Tom is very knowledgable about Truman and has a number of great memories and stories about the Truman family.
Enjoy....
Yours in ZAX,
Mike Raymond

Mike,
Congratulations on yet another great article. No need to thank me, though. As usual, I tend to doo little. (haha - couldn't resist)
ZAX,
Jono

The October Cross & Crescent Is Posted!
Greetings,
Once again, the electronic Cross & Crescent magazine has been published on-line, on time, and as promised.
The Dick Tracy article is a good read. I hope that the first part of my Theta Kappa Nu Ritual article is of interest to my fellow GCers. Part two of the article (November, 2006) will cover the staging, room layout, performance highlights, and basic concepts of the TKN Ritual.
Yours in ZAX,
Mike Raymond

Agree with John G about TKN article even though some got bent out of shape about secrets.
I enjoyed reading it and look forward the the second part next month.
Cannot wait to read the Cole article as John is!
Very Nice job Brother Mike!
As always of course!

I don't know why staff specifically asked Mike to write the TKN ritual article in the first place. It seemed odd to me.
What really has me mystified as an editor is the correction I made to the Dick Tracy article, changing "where they below" to "where they belong".
But it still came out wrong!
Regarding some of the TKN comments, some folks just don't realize that making a big deal out of it makes a big deal out of it. The less said, the better.
ZAX,
Jono

The November Cross & Crescent Magazine is Available
Brothers,
The latest issue of the Cross & Crescent Magazine has been released as promised and on time for the past thirteen months. I think many of you will be very interested in the sidebar about the Theta Kappa Nu coat of arms.
Enjoy!

The OLD Electronic Cross & Crescent
I can't wait until it's referred to as the OLD electronic Cross & Crescent and we get back to a printed format.
There will probably be the same tired "features" of used-to-be Lambda Chi fat cats who line their pockets while doing little or nothing for the fraternity, but you can't have everything. Writing about true brothers who actually help the fraternity is apparently beyond the realm of possibility and the scope of the publication.
If it weren't for Mike's articles and Chapter News, I wouldn't read it at all.
Finally, what Bozo decided it would be a good idea to write a political piece a week before elections? And about a Republican, no less, as if they're not running scared enough as it is.
At least the tag line is accurate: "Lambda Chi and politics have similarities."
That's true. As evidenced by the Comments, both have their fair share of idiots.
(I'm writing here instead of there just in case someone wants to get into a pissing contest. I don't want to see anything like that in my magazine. That's not what it's for, but unfortunately it's what it's become.)

Jono,
I’ve got to push back (in a brotherly way) on the comment about the “used-to-be Lambda Chi fat cats who line their pockets while doing little or nothing for the fraternity,” and your desire for C&C articles about “true brothers who actually help the fraternity.” In my role (among others) as national chair of the Call to Lead Campaign, I have been all over the country meeting with these well-heeled brothers and seeking to get into their pockets. Not once have I been refused a meeting; not once have I been denied a donation. Of the hundreds who have donated to our Campaign, we have nearly ten brothers who have donated in excess of six figures each, some significantly in excess. The result is that we will be in a position well in advance of the 2007 Leadership Seminar to announce that we have achieved our goal of raising $6.5 million. These funds will be used to fund educational and leadership development programs, to train our alumni advisors, and to benefit individual chapters.
Many of our brothers have “moved on” after graduation as the fraternity has taken a back seat to family, career, and other interests. But my travels have taught me that the flame of our Fraternity still burns, even in those who have had little or no actual involvement over the years. We all have different ways of helping, some with time, some with talent, some with treasure, and some with a combination of all three. Let’s not fail to acknowledge the significant contribution of those who write the big checks. Take my word for it - most of them wish they had the time to do more.
In ZAX,
Lynn Chipperfield
