i just got home from work and i am THRILLED to find out that mom and daughter are now sisters!! congratulations to you both.
now you must plan to go to initiation!!it is something you cannot miss.

Reading about phimu88 and her daughter made me think of you and your daughter's rush from a few years ago and how lovely she looked on Bid Day.

haha my daughter said she has never smiled or talked so much in her entire life as she just did during rush and I went to dig out some of my old sorority pictures and the bid day ones were crazy... looking back at the smile plastered across my face I remember how she feels!

Congratulations to you and your daughter. How exciting that she is a Phi Mu. My daughter just completed recruitment at USM too. She is now a member of ADPi. She was cut pretty heavily after prefs and I had to console her through her tears and emotions. She is also 15 hours from home which didn't help matters. I just advised her to give it a chance and this is where she was meant to be. Although she isn't my sister I know she will be happy once her disappointment calms down. She is actually at her pinning ceremony as we speak. We are delivering the rest of her stuff on Thursday so I'm going to be buying lots of lions and lots of blue and white.

These are the numbers I was given:
ADPi = 28
Chi O = 32
DDD = 31
DG = 35
KD = 32
Phi Mu = 32
Pi Phi = 31

I'm pretty sure Chi O got 33. Either way, looks like a great recruitment for all the Southern Miss chapters!

Does Southern Miss now guarantee bids to girls who pref and maximize their options?
I ask that because I know there have been girls "cross cut" during bid matching at Southern Miss in past years.

Guaranteed Bids
We were told that should the girls attend two pref parties they would receive a bid from one of those groups. My daughter actually only attended one pref party and still received a bid. Its my understanding that everyone who completed the process received a bid. I do know that quite a few girls left after the first round of cuts.

I know in the past few years no girls have actually be released from recruitment, but many girls decided to leave on their own when they didn't end up with the choices they wanted.
