Quebec's flag is certainly distinct alright... and the most overtly religious as well - pretty much lifted from flag of the French Canadian Catholics, but minus the Sacred Heart in the middle of the cross.
True, and there is no question that the provincial flag was an attempt to "secularize," to some extent, the Carillon-Sacré Coeur flag, although both flags have their roots in flags of the Ancien Régime.
RU OX, I notice in the older flag that the tyrant seems to be lifting his head up, while in the others he's good and dead!
