I doubt that. You never give up a chance to try to show us how "superior" you think you are. Which, by the way, is not working. The thing is that you're so off-the-charts shallow that it's comical (and not just a bit sad.) Haven't you noticed that practically no one takes you seriously? Normal people don't make the superficial judgments that you do.

You really want to know what's important to sorority girls when determining how "good" a fraternity is? Obviously I can't speak for all sorority women but most might agree with the following:

#1 - Are the members of the fraternity gentlemen? True gentlemen who treat women with respect. (that would exclude you and your making fun of unattractive women at Rush parties)

#2 - Are the guys fun to be around? Can they carry on good conversations and not just be drunken idiots?

#3 - Do they take pride in themselves? Yes, being good-looking is an advantage. We all judge people on looks to some degree. It's human nature. But more importantly, do they do their best to present a positive image of themselves with what they have? Personally, I don't care if a man buys his ties at Brooks Brothers or can only afford K-Mart.

#4 - Are they a close-knit brotherhood? Do they genuinely care about eachother or are they merely in the same fraternity because of some perceived notion of "class" and where they belong in the social strata?

#5 - Do they make good grades? Are they taking college seriously and trying to educate themselves as opposed to either being slackers or relying on their superficial connections to get them jobs?

#6 - Are they nice guys? People who make others feel welcomed rather than feeling judged. Strangely, some people are attracted to arrogance. Personally, I can't think of anything uglier than smugness and an air of superiority.

#7 - Do they have class? (And this is where I'll lose you since I honestly don't think you fully understand the meaning of the word.) Class means valuing character over wealth. Class means behavior that's beyond reproach. It means treating everyone, no matter their income, looks, background, race, color or creed, with the respect due all human beings. It does not mean that they have to be friends with all of them or have all of them in their fraternity. It just means having dignity and treating others with dignity too. (Please notice that money is not mentioned in this definition of class. Money does NOT equal class!)

That, to me, is what makes a fraternity good. That's what I look for in both men and women, in sororities and fraternities and out in the working world.

I think what irritates me most about you, Fratty, is that all of those qualities could be found in my favorite fraternity back in the day, Fiji. They were "my guys" and they were the best of men. My boyfriend from back then is a Fiji and I was proud to wear his lavalier.

It saddens me that you are their brother.

What kind of recognition were you waiting for before you started winning step shows? If your campus or local community doesn't hand out awards for that, petition for an award to be created.

People win step shows for a different reason than they maintain high GPAs and do community service. However, many areas still don't give a damn about step shows, stroll offs, or the teams who participate in them.

But since you all are gaining notoriety for that, us it to some good. Do a stepshow fundraiser and donate a percentage of the money. If you haven't already been doing so.

Leslie Anne- you said it! And to add something a bit more vulgar but still a good judge-

If you see a sorority member drunk and needing to go home, do you a) walk her home and see that a sister or friend of hers takes care of her or b) take her back to the fraternity house and "see what happens".

Do you refer to sorority members as "soroistutes".

If you answered B and yes, then your GLO isn't very good.

My point, and I apologize for my flaw in clarity. was that our events, functions, community service, GPA, and Graduation Rate, were completely unnoticed. It wasnt untill we started winning that all of a sudden the undegrads at my Alma Mater received the academic excelance award with an overall gpa of 2.95 cumm, when we eclipsed the other orgs in 2001 with a gpa of 3.2 cumm the award went to an org with an overall 2.8. True they had 75 members but to my understanding the requirement was highest overall GPA. In addition most of the community service events we initiated were primarily rediculed and unsupported by a majority of the NPHC and other orgs even had events during our slots out of blatent disrespect. The same service intiatives we are still doing today, The Encarta Program for Middle School Kids, And of course The Saint Jude Foundation. Recently in the passed 2 years, we have had an influx of support and partnership from various GLO's. Could this be because of the national exposure We give the Service initiatives? We were on local television and the radio after one of the shows and we pubbed the service initiatives and our struggles there in to reach the masses. We have always supported our community financialy, part of our dues structure (chapter wize) is allocated to donating a certain amount simi-annually to the the county in mention, and big Bro's and Sis's. Money helps the cause Greatly but over all its people who make the Biggest differnce and its hard to reach those people when collectively the over all mind set is "They didnt win Greek Fest so they wack"? This could all just be by coincidence but again I say the people have spoke loud and clear.

"back then they didnt want me, Now we winning Shows and they all on me"
were is the integrity?
So what realy defines how good an ORG is, is really dependant upon the person asking the question. There is truely no Real Landmark or criteria to Judge this by cause regionaly some things or what some may see as important could vary.

My 63 cents

See, PhiGam, I keep trying to give you a break and not want to think you're a complete shallow buffoon, but then you give the answers you have in this thread.

Here's the thing, for real, you'd get your ass kicked in the north. It's a good thing you're down where you are, with your boat shoes and your croakies and your anything-but-denim shorts. Stay with your peeps because you wouldn't make it on a campus up here. Glad you're so impressed with yourself and I hope it keeps working for you... in your little world.

He may have answered A for the first question, but I wouldn't be the least surprised if he's done B at least once if he refers to sorority ladies as sorostitutes. It's people like Fratty that make Greeks look bad.

ETA: Leslie, good post btw! Not only were you very correct in all you said, but you stated your opinion about Fratty in a very intelligent way AND you gave him a serious answer to the original post. Thumbs up!

Exactly! He might claim to be a southern gentleman, but somehow I doubt his mother and grandmother would want to be called a "sorostitute". And as I have been told, if you are a real gentleman, you wouldn't call a lady something that you wouldn't say in front of your mother.

That girl in the confederate flag dress looked like absolute white trash... ridiculous. The average southern sorority is twice as good looking as ANY of the PC composites I've seen on here and wouldn't let her in. If I'm correct (which I am) your sorority ranks girls based on attractiveness after the first day (apparently you got 28 of the 30 best looking girls and KD got the other two in the fall)... maybe those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
I was not trying to start a greek pissing contest, I was genuinely wanting to know what was the most important to sorority girls but whatever.
Here you go again. Ego, Ego, Ego and nothing by which to substantiate it. All you do is try to validate how important you think you are. And, so much emphasis on looks.

I have two words to say to you, Fratty....

GROW UP!!!
