I'm watching it on CMT Thursday or Friday, but from pagaent school, I really liked TX even though she was new to the scene. I just loved her. I wasn't a fan on GA though, so I'm glad she didn't win. I can't remember OK whatsoever...

Was it Michael Feinstein who said that the Talent competition separates the Miss America Program from the rest?
Kudos to him (and I heard the cheers of the crowd because they were thinking what I was thinking probably)....he was right!
Mario did good. I have to admit he did good. Good broadcast I saw in a while, although I was a bit disappointed that they limited the Talent portion to only the top 5. I would have loved for you guys to see what I saw of Pili at the State Pageant.

After Alabama didn't make the final three I was rooting for Texas. I honestly fastforwarded through thier final question, I just wanted to see who won.
I wasn't a fan of Georgia, so I'm glad she didn't win. I don't know I just liked Texas better.
It's kind of sad if they were too busy wanting to play it safe. There are times when chosing the "safe" person isn't the person who necessarily deserves to "win". IMPO.
But at least Texas was able to get a 25,000 scholarship because that was her biggest goal, getting a scholarship to finish school. That should definately help her out.

Between me and you, I was rooting for her above all others. She looked gorgeous in her swimsuit and evening gown (her evening gown was the only one I would have worn myself) and I was sorely disappointed that she didn't make the top five.
It was all southern states (OK is southern to me) that went through and annoyed me, but then pageants are a sport down there so I shouldn't be surprised.

Man I wish I had watched the show. I went to high school with Miss Nebraska, very sweet girl but back then she was not in to pageants and such so I was pretty shocked when I saw she was Miss Nebraska. Weird.

They'll most likely re-broadcast it. I remember last year, they showed the pageant a few days later on VH1

I may be in the minority, but I HATED Oklahoma. I was upset she was top 10. Her answers were weak, her talent was by far the worst of the top 5 (I thought the best were Mississippi and Alabama, neither of which progressed)... she was flat and boring. I was disappointed.
Does anyone else think she looks just like Blair from Facts of Life?

Oh no. I definitely agree with you about Oklahoma. Compared to the other Top 4, she was drab and forgettable. I would have been happy with ANY of the 4 becoming Miss America.
I enjoyed the telecast, but Miss Oklahoma -- what a disappointment.

I agree. Although I felt Miss Texas' talent was the best. Alabama didn't have the vocal strength for the song she selected (she may of been nervous) and Mississippi's played with "heavy hands" on the piano (once again maybe nervousness). Oklahoma sounded overlytrained and her answers we weak but maybe that's what they want Miss America to be.

Miss Oklahoma was definitely not my choice.... i was shocked she went to top 5. Miss Texas i liked. She looked like a cross between Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks. Miss California should of placed higher. I think she looked awesome in swimsuit ( she won that) and evening gown...she knew which colors worked for her , but i was shocked when they chose Oklahoma she was bland!
I really liked Miss America 2006, Jennifer Berry ( Oklahoma). I watch Miss America yearly it is ritual to me and there are only a few favorites i have like over the years.

I was in Vegas watching the whole thing. Congratulations to Lauren Nelson and all the 52 contestants on a great show and a great year!
Of course, I was pulling for Jamie (Miss Louisiana), but she even admitted at visitation that talent was her weakest area of competition.
OTW: Wish I would have seen Pili at Miss Hawaii. Her Tahitian dance was great. She really stood out for me this year and I'm disappointed that she didn't progress beyond top 10.
Somebody in Oklahoma must be doing something right...two in a row!

Who else is there? Is there actually a major network that'll want to pick them up?
They should go to PAX. [/sarcasm] PAX will take anybody. Don't they televise Mrs. America?
