And considering NO ONE deserves to be violated and forced to allow someone else to enter YOUR body. I just don't understand how people can say 'she was asking for it'.

Would they want someone sticking their finger in their ear without permission?

So true....
It really is scary how people can blame the victim and that is why they do not come forward. I really hope that justice is served for this young woman. The truth of the matter is that could have been any of us under different circumstances. How many of us have gone to the bathroom in a club by themselves, or while being at a college party and went somewhere to speak to a guy alone, or been separated from friends by a crowd? It really is easy to judge when the mirror is not in front of you.

Excellent point.

i know that and did not say it was due to sexual arousal...just that when one puts herself out there like that, one can expect to receive unwanted attention. that's all. maybe i didn't clarify that good enough...my bad. hopefully you understand that when u lie down with dogs, you wake up with fleas.

Just as an update, suspension have been made at Duke and the President of the institution has addressed his concern and disappointment in the "accused" students. However, it is very disturbing to see that we as women think that we deserve to be assaulted because of our profession. She did not go alone, she was with someone else however, and they were divided. If I am a stripper how many people am I going to bring with me to see me strip???? Not too many because I am at work. How many people do you bring to work with you for protection, LIL'JUICEY?
i have six lil' friends that work along side my hip on a daily basis...they're called bullets. and i have another box to back them up when i use'em. i think that might be enough protection for me. what i was trying to say in the previous post is that WE ARE STEREOTYPED BY OUR PROFESSIONS, SURROUNDING, FRIENDS, PAST ACTIONS, ETC. AND WE HAVE TO KNOW THAT AND DEAL WITH IT. the girls reputation is going to be tarnished b/c she's a stripper, point blank period. that's society's assumption and u can't tell me that you've never experienced being classified a certain way b/c of someone you hung out with. if it hasn't happened yet, it will.

and last time i checked, my opinions were just that...mine. I don't have to choose any sides because I choose to be neutral. i can see both sides of the picture. just because i'm a woman, doesn't mean that i have to let my anger and emotions drive my siding in this case. maybe you're too angry to really understand what i'm saying. i work with victims and criminals on a daily basis, so i have learned not to be onesided and to be more objective. once again, i'll say that those boys were dead arse wrong for raping that girl!! if that's not cut and dry enough for you then oh well...

Unhappy

So are folks saying that these "little boys" cannot control their hormones and have the right to be uncontrollably turned on sexually and beat the crap out of a woman who happens to be an exotic dancer?

Are folks saying it is okay for caucasian boys to go "buckwild" like "Columbine" or up where I'm at in Seattle, with the Rave parties and do whatever they want to other people even if it is against the law--no matter how humiliating?

And the little boy who made the email about killing strippers--that sounds premeditated...

Just asking...

It is sad that this young woman has endured this sort of pain. Didn't Al Sharpton defend a young woman who said she was raped by the police in the late 1980's? What was her name? Twanna Brawley... Whatever happened to that?

All are not as objective as the police. And I guess it is like they say opinions are like butt holes every bodies got one.

Its hard to say until I see the photos and hear what the explainantion is. It could be anything......Maybe her "boss" (and I use that losely) beat her up for leaving that party earlier - maybe she was drunk/high in order to go through with it and could barely walk or stand. I don't know...

I have to see/read more but I do think depending upon when and where these pics took pplace, it can very negatively impact her story.
