I think you are correct, Aries. The whole "friends with benefits" thing kind of threw me. I like his character well enough, but it is bordering on cliche. Let's hope the writers develop it more.

I haven't watched since the eppy when Abby had the baby, any news on that front or is the baby now a backburner along with Luka and Abby?
I'm so getting over ER. The only reason I started watching again was b/c of Abby's pregnancy but I watched sporadically the season Mark died and stopped watching after that.
I miss Doug and Carol. LOL.

OMG I sobbed when Dr Greene died. I miss Doug, Carol, Mark, Carter... I have watched it since day 1. In fact, the first 2 episodes, I was in the hospital for my CF (almost 3 weeks), and a few of the respiratory therapists and nurses and my resident popped in to watch. Every time I have been inpatient, a few people show up in my room "for meds" or for "respiratory therapy" at ER time. Given that the respiratory therapy can take 30-40 minutes, they can get almost a whole show in.

The episode Dr. Greene died has to be by far one of the best ever ER episodes. Showing his suffering while bonding with his daughter in his last days made everyone cry, I think.
IZ's "Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World" was the icing on the cake.
How wonderful they filmed it in Hawaii!

Last week's episode really bored me, for some reason. I'm a little underwhelmed at ER so far this season.

Whenever one of the "old timers" leaves the ER, I can't help but get a little sad.
Dr. Kerry Weaver hasn't had big storylines lately, so I had a feeling that it was only a matter of time before she'd leave. According to the previews, she'll be on next week's episode.
I really wish Gates smacked the shit outta his buddy's widow. So now we know that she used her late husband's insurance to send Gates to medical school and now she thinks she can keep him around because of it. Neela shoulda bitch slapped the daughter as well/
I'm wondering what'll be Dr. Pratt's fate now. I had a feeling his charity work with the church was going to bite him back in the ass.

Who plays the widow? She looks very familiar.
I'm not a big fan of Gates (aka Dr. Uncle Jesse).

She played Colleen on LOST -- the one Jack couldn't save on the operating table after being shot by Sun.

Maybe it's because he kissed a dude as Ronnie 'Sunshine' Bass in Remember the Titans?
I'm having way too much fun with IMDB today, obviously.

As an E.R. fan from literally day one, I agree. It is sad when the "old timers" leave. And while I agree that Kerry wasn't getting much air time, I have to admit that I did not see this coming at all.
And since we now know she is going, I hope her farewell episode is done with E.R.'s usual class and dignity.

I forgot her name, but that young nursie who used to date Luka set the house on fire after playing with matches and liquor.
Pratt got arrested for giving drugs to the church folk.
And Forest Whittaker broke into Abby and Luka's place with a gun -- he was waiting when she got home with the baby!
Oh yeah, Abby's father came back into her life, but she walked away from him.

Any guesses on how (if?) Abby & Luka are going to get married?
