The Dominicans made it farther than the Americans, just in case you hadn't realized that. I agree that those players being in midseason form would be better but it wouldn't make much of a difference. I don't think many people realized how good foreign players are. Most of the good players are coming from latin america now among other regions. The losses to Mexico and especially Canada were shocking but it goes to show how fast the gap is closing.

Yeah, I realized the Dominicans went further than the US.......but they have also been playing a baseball season that probobly just ended. As I said before, most Dominicans, Latinos, etc. go straight from the MLB to winter leagues. Hell, The Cubans had to halt their season so they could play in the WBC. Americans have been taking vacations and playing golf.

I knew Japan had good players never would have thought that they'd take it. Hopefully this series is brought back again.

Im pretty sure they are playing it again in 2009? every three years I guess?Japan was pretty damn good, Ill have to admit. The right handed submariner that they had was absolutely sick

Actually, the series is going to be every 4 years but the next one will be in only 3 years b/c they don't want the series to be on the same schedule as the Olympics & the World Cup.
