If Kerry decides to run and get's nominated again (let's hope not), the topic may have some validity to me.

As it is, it's (more than) a year old piece of news.

I'll look forward to making the same comment(s) when it's two years old and still won't make a difference -- at least to me.

That election is over.

That election is over.
That's how I feel. I was torn between "talk about beating a dead horse" and upset that the Democratic party chose him, of all people, for their response. He's yesterday's news - even if he doesn't want to believe it!

Sometimes crying "straw man!" is a method of avoiding debate.

It is true that the poor debate tactic of erecting a straw man does exist and is often used. Unfortunately, accusing someone of straw man is also a powerful tool to shut up those to whom you do not wish to listen.
