Did anyone see him Friday?

I'll have to watch the entire show later. The part I did see, Dave seemed a bit "high".

I saw the show and yes he seemed a bit high, I also am still left confused because he didn't seem to be giving any straight answers to anything. He did deny any drug use. Yeah right.

I saw it as well. Dave did seem a little aloof. But I can totally understand him in where he said that he was so stressed out that for your sanity you have to walk away. But if that was me, I would have told my family.

I think that Comedy Central will honor his requests for him to come back. I really don't think he was asking for that much.

IMO, he seemed anything but high. I think that he was all over the place b/c he may have been intimidated to be on Oprah (notice--he never looked her in the eyes when he was giving examples). I think he was very nervous to be on Oprah and having to finally explain himself. I have seen him do interviews before high and he was way more aloof (plus, his eyes were red). I wish he were really high b/c then maybe he wouldn't have been so tense.

Yes - I saw this show and was like - Dang Dave you do seem a little nuts. I don't know - I've gone thru some under cover racism before, but the stuff that he was saying about them building a wall in the office was a little over the top. Notice how Oprah kept giving him the opportunity to say that not telling his wife that he was going to Africa was not right, but then eventually cut him off and moved on.

TTT--Block Party

I saw the movie last night and I really enjoyed it. Dave was hillarious and the music was good. The Fugees were the last part of the movie and it had me thinking why their new song is so wack.

If you really like music, comedy and documentries, this is the movie for you!

I will save future comments until more people see the movie.

One more thing...the audience was young and diverse!

And another thing...since Dave was on Oprah, does this dispute the Chapelle Theory?

I will not be going to the movie to see this. I am going to wait for it to come out on DVD and buy it.

Ditto on what you said Jitterbug13! It was a doc and if you love all the music from those artists (like I do!) then you NEED to see this movie! Man, I would have given one of my kidneys to be at that Block Party!

I thought it was great that I saw my Sorors representing at the Block Party too!

The AKAs were representing in the movie for real!

I was singing and dancing in my chair! I was singing right along to "Jesus Walks", "Get 'Em High", "Just To Get By" and "Killing Me Softly"!

I can't wait until it comes out on DVD and I hope they have more performaces (or the whole show). I also hope a certain artist did his own songs at the Block Party and not join in songs he was a part of (unspokenone knows who I am talking about).

i'm really looking forward to seeing this. and owning it on dvd.

about Dave--i thought his interview on Inside the Actor's Studio was much more meaningful and conclusive than the little bit that Oprah let him get out on her show. James Lipton was more interested in Dave as a person, whereas Oprah's interview was more about "the scoop." I loved all two hours of the show and felt that I better understood him after ITAS.

I also think that the cigarettes helped to calm his nerves on ITAS versus the nerves on Oprah. He was much more focused with Lipton--and he actually got to talk without either being interrupted by personal anecdotes from the 'O' or by commerical breaks. Aaaaaaaaand he was hilarious

I want the DVD as well. I can't wait until they release it. Maybe I'll go to the theater to see this in a fee weeks. I'll let the buzz die down first.

Right! I was kinda upset about that seeing as if he is one of my favorite MCs!

I saw it this afternoon, and I really enjoyed it. Everyone in theater was cracking up, and bouncing to the music. When I saw a soror's pink and green umbrella, my pinkie instinctively went up. I couldn't help it!
