I thought Madison was a college town...?

Kitso, have you ever BEEN to Madison? I think you might like it -- there are a lot of similarities between Austin and Madison. But I'm not going to bother getting into a pissing contest over which capital city is best (of all the lame arguments . . . ) because I think both Austin and Madison are great and I'm happy with where I'm at.
One thing I LOVE about Madison is that it's so close to the Twin Cities, Milwaukee and Chicago -- so anything Madison lacks, like a big local music scene, can be found there. The Twin Cities has the most theaters per capita in the US (I saw my first opera there, some great dance, and wonderful theater) and a great music scene. Of course Chicago has amazing music and museums and food and stuff going on all the time. And Milwaukee has Summerfest -- what more could you ask for?
I also love Denver and Austin. My daddy wants to move to Austin when he retires, which he would have done earlier but he knows the rest of the family would have killed him. I think he imagines it being like Madison but with warmer weather. I can't think of any capitals I really hate, although there are a lot that are disappointing.

Not only is it one of the best cities in the country for parks and recreation-type activities, it is a beautiful setting. 6th street is paralleled by none.
Kitso
KS 361 times i'd rather live in Austin than in any fuckin city WI has to offer

I'm gonna agree with you on this one! It's tough to be an Aggie in this land of burnt orange.
But, hell yeah, Austin is the BEST state capitol, hands down. I've lived here for less than 2 months, and it's the best city in the world!!!
It must suck for people to have to name their own city as the worst, glad I don't have that problem. LOL

I have only visited Jackson once, but I really liked it. The people were so friendly and it's unbelievably cheap (both always good things, IMO!)

Of course KR lived (lives?) in one of the very neatest capitals in the country.
Annapolis is really cool.

That is such a great thing to say.
I applaud technology. It is so great. I mean really, you'd only have to get rid of 40 acres -- I think it'd be better to put a shopping mall there anyhow.
