According to fanforum.com, there are rumours that the show will only have another four episodes. Originally, there would be 6 more. There is a petition online that you can sign to try to convince NBC not to cancel it. Post cards (not letters) to NBC can also be sent.
The petition can be found here:
http://www.petitiononline.com/SaveAD/petition.html
I've already signed it.

He should have slept with her. Attractive girl with no father figure + a politician = ratings.

There's a report in the TWOP AD thread that the show has been cancelled. The season was trimmed back from 19 episodes to 17, and will most likely end with Meg running off to be with Chris.
All I wanna know is am I going to see more Nathan? Huh??

Its been pulled from February sweeps, but will return in March... thats just what I have heard at least.
I hope they dont cancel it, this is the only show I watch on tv regulary. There are no other good sitcoms left really out there. I will be very upset if they do

American Dreams will be back on Wednesday night! Hopefully it will do really well in that time slot. I would hate to see it cancelled.

I think it's a fair bet that it's been cancelled -- or will be after this season airs. After all, they're putting it on up against "Lost" and it doesn't have a hope of winning that time slot.

I can't wait, although I love "That '70's Show", too!

I love American Dreams - but I wonder if it's run its course?
I could watch it forever, for the music, if nothing else - but I don't see the "oomph" in tackling the issues of the 60's hard enough. The show's concept is great, but I do think they need better writers.

I agree with honeychile - the show has run its course, but I think it's because the wolves are at the door that they're not trying as hard as they could.
I will say this though: Sam is FOINE!

I wouldn’t say that it’s necessarily run its course yet. I think that they will probably have to take a different approach to things now though since Meg is out of high school and things are changing.
It is in danger of being canceled though if they don’t get enough viewers in this new time slot. Which would be a shame, hopefully they will still put out season 2 and 3 on dvd though.

Anyone watch tonight's episode?
It's weird that they aired this in the middle of the Terri Schiavo case.......

Meg's dad's older brother, who was appearantly no good, was in a car accident and was rendered brain dead, with only the new technology of life support keeping him alive. So they focused on the father's decision making process which ultimately lead to them pulling the plug.
Meg got Patty onto American Bandstand where she criticized the band that performed.
At the very end of the show, Chris was waiting for Meg when she got home from the Rolling Stones concert with Roxanne, Chris and Sam.
