You know what I think is great. Despite the controversy of his book, he getting people to read. People hear about his book, so they read it. Others have written books to discredit his information. People will read those. The more publicity a book gets the more people will read.

This is a perfect example of "there is no such thing as bad publicity."

I just sped thru the book in a four day period- It was definitely worth reading and i probably will read it again in the future.
I don't think it's a sequel in the works- I think Brown just plans on using the same main character of Langdon (who was also used in Angels and Demons supposedly- i still have to read that one).
I really learned alot by reading this book, but it wasn't being forced down my throat as so many lecture courses seem to go.
Overall, another to add to my list of favorites.

Yep, Langdon is in Angels and Demons, too. I'm about a quarter of the way through that one, and it's looking to be along the same lines, religious-type mysteries and puzzles. This one focuses on the Illuminati. It's good so far!

Oh yeah... I'm just referring to the point when Sophie is getting more of the indepth knowledge...i don't want to give too much away... it was just SO much info at once to read, I had to reread a couple pages to make sure i understood it all. So unlike courses when the prof rambles on and on about something you really don't care about.

I read the Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons. Very Highly Recommended!!!!! I just bought 2 other Dan Brown books but haven't had a chance to begin to read them. I will probably start this weekend as I am going upstate to my parents and there isn't much else to do there LOL.

The Da Vinci Code Movie
This is what I've found so far on the internet:
The Internet Movie Database
It's not much here, but they update it as they get more information.
There is also a link which suggests that they are considering Tom Hanks for Robert Langdon...I have to vote no on that one.

Definitely no! I can't picture him in that role at all.
"Angels and Demons" is running kind of slow for me right now. It doesn't seem as fast-paced as "The Da Vinci Code". Still interesting, but just hasn't sucked me in as much.

By the way, does the Musee du Louvre switch around their paintings in regular basis? Or Brown just narating the location of the paintings, but I don't think Monalisa is located in the same location as described, not alone the Madonna of the Rock is shared the same room.

The Louvre does rotate paintings but only within display groups, but not locations... The Mona Lisa has moved a couple of times in the past century, but has it's location has remained the same over the past four or five decades (better preservation and security).

Read the article on casting....Tom Hanks: NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Hugh Jackman: YEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!
Some are suggesting John Cusack, but Langdon's about 46 years old, so I don't know if Cusack could pull it off....
Ralph Fiennes would be great as well.... Some argue he's not a big enough box-office draw, but w/this book to movie project, I think that is a worthless argument. People are going to go see it no matter what.
I don't like Kate Beckinsale as Sophie...Sophie was a blond in my imagination...Charlize Theron would be good.

I don't really like any of the suggestions for casting. But they better not cast Tom Hanks. I just don't think he would be good in this role.
I think they should stay away from major Box office players for this one actually.
There is one actress that I think would make a great Sophie.
Her name is Tilda Swinton. She played the french judge in "The Statement" starring Michael Cain.
You can look her up on the Internet Movie Database.
