'Fame' Actor Gene Anthony Ray Dies at 41
2 hours, 15 minutes ago
NEW YORK - Gene Anthony Ray, an actor and dancer best known for his roles in the 1980 movie "Fame" and its spin-off television series, died Friday in Manhattan of complications from a stroke. He was 41.
Ray was also HIV (news - web sites) positive, his mother said. The actor attended New York's High School of the Performing Arts, but he dropped out after a year.
Ray returned to the role of Leroy for the "Fame" television series, which ran from 1982 to 1987. He went on to appear in the films "Out of Sync" (1995) and "Eddie" (1996), starring Whoopi Goldberg (news).
Ray appears in a "Fame" reunion documentary, "Fame Remember My Name," which was taped in April 2003 for the BBC but has not yet aired.

I hear ya, Ideal. It does seem like it has been an exorbitant amount of celebrity deaths.

Who in the world is this Benzino bamma? I have heard of him from time to time but could never remember where. I just remember him having a rather LARGE head and seeing him on a video recently.
What's his story? He seems quite WHACK to me!

afrochic help me!!!
<<<<Actress Lisa Raye who plays "Neesy" on the UPN Show All of Us gives a very revealing interview in the latest edition of Sister to Sister Magazine. Lisa claims she only makes $20,000 per episode on the show because black shows don't pay a lot of money. (Afrochic's sidenote: She has no talent whatsoeva...she betta be happy she's getting that much ) >>>>>
I am still trying to locate the memo in which it states that LisaRaye had ANY TALENT. Can someone please locate it and while you are at it, find an orthodotist, because with her $20,000 per episode, she can afford to get that bottom grill worked on .

It does seem like many people have died in the last two or three months. Not only celebrities, but people I know. I have been to two funerals in two weeks. It is just very sad.

I saw him on something a while back as well, and I thought the same thing. He didn't look well at all, and it looked as if he had a "runny nose" to go along with that HIV.
