Honey, these are all oh so true! My favorite has to be:

*You automatically pick up a few extra tea towels, dish rags, and paring knives just prior to volunteering for Recruitment.

I remember the year that each and every night I was carrying in something else that the chapter needed in the kitchen. Pref Night I had to go purchase 2 more cheesecakes due to better than anticipated return rates! Nothing like trying to find decent cheesecakes near a college campus in a 45 minute timeframe. If that isn't love, I don't know what is

I'm so glad I finally found a place where I fit in! I used to buy bottle openers before recruitment because our chapter used to serve those small cokes in glass bottles. I'm glad I found a place where everyone is as jazzed as I am about my organization. I think I was born a Kappa - my favorite color has ALWAYS been blue since I was a child!

My bedroom was sky blue, with a sea blue carpet and a collection of keys on the wall! Think my mama was trying to send me subliminal messages?

my favorite was about the pin-hole inflicted black dress...

I have one black v-neck top I wore with EVERYTHING Phi Mu. I loved it to start with so I wore it all during pledging... then it was black so I wore it to half the events.... then it was halfway dressy so I wear it to church, and stick my pin on that...

finally got retired this year. I bought another one though.

Here's a few more....

You can't picture your life not involving your sorority, no matter how fabulous you can picture your life.

you never REALLY wanted children, but now you can picture yourself having a little girl so you can tell her all about your sorority and one day see her pledge the same one.

first you had an AOII sticker on the back window of your car, but then you got a rear-end license plate frame saying AOII, so you put that on there too... then you got a front end license plate saying AOII... so what the hell you put that on there too... your car is basically a driving AOII-mobile... and of course while driving, you always scour the roads and search for cars that have "AOP" or "AO1" or "AOI" as a part of their state-issued license plate...

You jump up and down w glee and call sisters all over when your random state assigned license plates for your new car come up 5DG....

You have not yet celebrated the 1 year anniversary of your Alumnae Initiation and you are both Secretary for your alum group AND Chapter Operations Adviser for a chapter of 115 at a major university.

The people at anchor trader almost know your voice you've been ordering so much lately.

When you can't decide exactly how to include ZTA in your personalized license plates.

When you yell "Damn cherries" when you see an item that you think has strawberries on it

LOL. I do that all the time!!! What's the obsession with cherries anyway? Strawberries are cuter & taste much better.

you know you love your GLO when...
-you just can't seem to understand why people wouldn't want to wear their letters on letter day
-you make it a point to wear your letters whenever you are going to see school administration (i.e. the pres. of the school coming to talk to the student senate) just so that they know there is a positive image with greek life
-your friends are not shocked when you get the VW beetle in the color that is closest to purple.
-the first thing you did was put your sorority letters on your car via license plate frame, before inspection cards, and school info.
-you are happy that one of your colors is white, so on your wedding day you will be "sigmalicious"
-you come up w/ words such as sigmalicious
-you are the rush director.
-you are contemplating not working this summer at your normal job just so you can go to convention in arizona
-you are excited b/c the city you are moving to has a chapter
-you start stories w/ "a sister of mine..." constantly
-your AIM profile would seem empty without the presence of your letters.
-you get excited when your national has made a new web page, check it out... www.sigmasigmasigma.org
-you chose to live in your chapter house for a second year because you just couldn't imagine living anywhere else off campus.

Bump

Out of 105 chapters and colonies, if someone named either the chapter designation, 90% of the time you'll know which school it is, or vice versa if someone asked what chapter designation a school has....off the top of your head.

... you find yourself wondering where the HECK you're going to plant all those lilies of the valley you just bought...

... you scour the local needlecraft store for anything and everything lily-of-the-valley or giraffe...

... after spending several years living too far from a collegiate chapter to help with recruitment, you STILL know all your pref songs, cheers, and chants...

... and you have a nefarious plan to sing those pref songs as lullabies to any daughters you might have, so 18 years later they can get warm fuzzies when they pref your sorority ... (note I said when! )

When your second grade son (who is now 35) has to write a paper about a parent and use at least ten words that he doesn't know how to spell and the teacher calls laughing because she has never seen a list quite like his. It included University, Alabama, sorority and ZETA TAU ALPHA. He difinitely knew what was important to me.

I also overheard the same son in a conversation while I was driving his carpool when he was in kindergarten. Of course, I had a ZTA decal on the car and one of the other children asked him what it meant. He said "Well, it's a club she belonged to in college and she still belongs and, well, she is just a member of ZTA!" At that, another child said "Well, my mother is a member of the PTA!" I almost ran off the road laughing!

While at a convention this summer, after telling a story, I was asked, "How many sisters do you have?!"

Mr. honeychile said, "She means her sorority. You'll get used to it."

you buy a cute plain shirt so your mom can put rhinestones on it in the shape of the greek letters DG, and she sends it to you, but you can see the extra square of material she had to put on the inside to put the rhinestones on so you try to cut out the material around the letters, only to cut a hole through the shirt, and so you call your mom and complain about it, and without you even asking, your mom buys you a new shirt and makes you another one, this time, without that extra square of material, and she sends it to you in time for the specific DG event you wanted to wear it to in the first place... because she loves her daughter so much and she knows how much her daughter loves her GLO.
