I never had to diet in college, as I was always about 110 lbs, but I had to take some medicine a few years ago, and let's say I gained a bit. This year I decided to take control of that, and I've been on Weight Watchers since March 18th. In a little less than 2 months, I've lost 20 lbs, 2 sizes and more inches than I can count.
My advice on the carbs: don't eat fast carbs, eat slow carbs (whole grains, no white flour or sugar) and stay off the beer. Drinking one beer is like eating 2 slices of white bread. Imagine the nights you go out and have 8 beers!! YUCK. Also, get off the regular soda (10 teaspoons of sugar in ONE 12 oz. can!)
Eliminating one of any kind of food from your diet may only set you up for failure later if you don't have that willpower to avoid what's "bad". One thing I learned on Weight Watchers is that if I screw up today, I have to get back on the horse again tomorrow!! And it's worked...
