I can think of a lot of things to do with the Rangers............and to think we were upset when A-Rod left.

I have yet to see them mentioned, but as a life long Washington native my team will always be the Mariners!!!!!!

Now, if we could only replace a couple of our pitchers........

On another note, what about Sosa today getting thrown from the game for a corked bat? What's up with that?

Just heard on the radio that Sammy said he had picked up the wrong bat and got the one he had used in batting practice when he was putting on a hitting exhibition.

Now, I don't know about that...
Guess it's possible

SmartBlonde, a lot of good A-Rod is doing us as long as we don't have much in the way of pitching!!

We had the same problem when he was here...........and look what we've done since he left (yes, I realize we only ever get so far in the playoffs).

My thinking on Sosa was "hasn't he broken bats before (I'd assume so, Edgar shatters them weekly) so wouldn't this have been found before if he really was cheating?"

I don't know what you're going to do with them, but I want to know what we're going to do with the Padres?!?!?! Going into the ninth inning they have a shut out against the Tigers (I know, big accomplishment ) and the starting pitcher gives up a 3-run HR and we wind up losing 3 to 2. Yuck!

I have to admit that the Padres have become my second team this year. A good friend grew up there and is a life long Padres fan and is constantly lamenting about them. Of course, when they come to town I'll still be cheering for the M's.....

NY Post on Sunshine Sammy

Unbelievable story, but I think that critics of Sam are going to have a field day.

I saw it last night on ESPN2's Baseball Tonight. Sammy is in for some serious heat from his critics, But I agree with Peter Gammons's comment: Sammy should be honest and tell his side of the story. Don't hide anything.

Don't you mean the Detroit Tigers. Alan Tramell is the new manager and they still suck

Just a question (not trying to stir up trouble or anything)....do you all believe Sammy's story, or do you think this is evidence of him tampering with his bats? I personally think it was an accident, especially since ESPN was saying that corked bats only provide about 1% more distance (so a HR hit 400 ft with a regular bat would go only 404 ft).

The Brewers could have Bill Gates' bankroll and the entire all-star roster and still suck. I think it is something in the water.

The better question is:

Why couldn't they do this LAST NIGHT when I went to the game and The Padres gave up a home run on the 2nd pitch of the game on their way to a 6-2 loss?

True...that is the better question

Where did you sit last night? I was at the game with my mom, but we were so cold and didn't feel well that we left before the game even started
