From the press conference today, nothing was really talked about... They aren't giving out any info. They won't comment on Scott. ( A question was asked if the police knew where Scott was and they stated they didn't know and even if they did, they wouldn't disclose the info on him... Last I heard he is in San Diego with his parents)
As far as being out here (Modesto) I haven't heard anything about the body having missing parts. All of that info I have read online... they are keeping everything very quiet but the news comes on soon. So if I get any updates I will let you all know what they tell us local folk out here.

This is horrible news either way, if or if it isn't Laci and Connor. Please continue to pray for them and their family.

Scott Peterson has been arrested for the murder of Lacy and her baby. They have been identified by DNA.

I am glad that her family can now have closure and have a ceremony...but I am horrified that their worst fears have come true. This is truly sad...if he did it, I wish he would just confess and spare them the mooring over the details in court.

Ohmygosh. This is so so so terrible. I don't understand how a human being could kill his wife and unborn baby (if he did do it)

I've been driving all day to get home for Easter, so I haven't been watching the news... wow. I am just so stunned.

If the way he acted was any indicator of his guilt, he's worthy of being thrown in jail. According to the news, he was waving and giving the finger to the surveillance cars surrounding him (they arrested him as he approached San Diego to prevent escape across the border). Why would an innocent man do something like this?

if anyone has seen his mug shot online... i think he was trying to change his look and there was speculation he was gonna flee to mexico. But in the pic he looks blond and had a beard.

i knew there was something fishy from the beginning. laci probably found out about the affair and threatened to leave him. when scott realized he wouldn't be able to pay alomony and child support, he killed her. it's a damn shame and i hope he is put away for a long time.

at least the family has closure. sucks that it has to turn out this way.

I'm all for letting his case go to trial and his fate decided by 12 of his peers; as far as the court of public opinion goes, the sonofab*tch is guilty as charged and was already aggravating his fate by disguising his appearance and possibly trying to beat feet outta the US via Tijuana. Flipping off surveillance teams isn't gonna win you brownie points on the stand, Scott Peterson. (Hell hath no fury than a p*ssed off cop!)

As it is, the press and their legions of overpaid "analysts" are already speculating and potentially tainting the jury pool. We don't want another O.J. media circus in our hands.

Sh*t, too bad we don't have frontier justice anymore... they could judge him on the spot and hang him publicly under the Modesto "Water Wealth Contentment Health" arch downtown. Hell, ya might as well charge admission, considering the media circus.

Talking about media circus, its crazy that someone from Texas knows my town's motto and that it is on our sign downtown!

During all of the drama going on here, I hadn't once thought about going to see the peterson house. Today I went. My family and I left tulips on the grass. It was such a strange feeling, but I am glad that now there is closure...

But man it was chaos on her street. At least 6 news media vans, and a good hundred people. You are taken aback by all the flowers, candles, signs, and teddy bears (and easter bunnies) laying on the front yard. Once I was leaving I saw police starting to show up (due to so many people. It was at 6pm)

Also last night there was supposedly 200 people at the county jail downtown when scott was brought there. I guess people where cheering and stuff. With the whole finding a jury deal,it is going to be very difficult. I guess McAllister (Peterson's attonery) is going to try to get the case out of Modesto, because of all the press, but where are they going to go where people don't know about it? I just hope that the truth comes out.

whew... no more thinking about it. too sad

I used to live in Sacramento for a couple of years (back about six years ago), and my job at the time took me through most of the Sacramento Valley -- Modesto, Merced, Tracy, Vacaville, etc. doing preliminary designs for computer networks in the school systems in the area.

I just took a look at Petersen's mugshot. When you look at his eyes it looks like there's nothing in there. Hard to explain, but I found it to be rather chilling

I think its just the effect of thinking of the double homicide.

AlphaSig-- I guess that explains the whole knowing of the motto deal

Anyway on the news (KCRA-Sacramento) tonight it was reported that when Peterson was arrested they found $10,000 cash and his brother's ID in his vehicle.
Kinda crazy if you ask me but I thought you all would like to know

Actually they arrested him after a round of golf at Torrey Pines. Now every year when the Buick Invitational rolls around I'm gonna think "I wonder how many murderers are on the links today!"

They also showed the city's crest during the news conference.

From what I read on CNN (not the most reliable news source, I know), they did track him during his entire drive down to SD--during which he did what he did.
