It's odd, but I think that quote if my favorite from the whole movie. Jennifer Coolidge (That's her real name, right? The woman who plays Elle's friend?) cracks me up in every movie I see her in! It's a big change from the Legally Blonde movies to the American Pie ones! MILF!

Thumbs up

Ok so...I just got back from seeing this with my roommate and she didn't really care for it, but I thought it was great! I laughed a lot, but then again I am easily amused. It made sorority girls look like idiots and the Delta Nu "handshake" or whatever that was supposed to be was really lame. But overall it was a super cute albeit very CHEESY movie and I really enjoyed it! And you can be sure I will buy it when it comes out on DVD.

The Kappa reference had my roommate and I both and she goes "Did they really just say what I think they did?"

But all in all, it was a great movie! Bruiser was soooooo cute too and the little leather studded outfit he wore at one point was just too funny.

Random note: The part when all the Delta Nu's are calling sisters to round them up for the million dog march one girl says "Hi Kiki, it's Heather!" which made me b/c my name is Kiki and my roommate's is Heather! Ok, sorry I am dork, I'm done now.

I saw LB2 last night and I caught the Kappa Kappa Gamma reference too (how they conflicted over the kissing booth conduct, etc.) LOL

There definitely were some groaner lines in the movie, but it was cute.

One of my friends and I went to see this yesterday. She is a Pi Chi (Recruitment Counselor) this year, and her group theme is Delta Nus! She is going to make them necklaces to wear like Reese's, and everything will be pink of course! She wants to use the Delta Nu cheer as well...she has to go see it again so she can try to memorize it.

I laughed really hard at the Snap Cup part, because my chapter does Roses and Thorns at the end of every chapter. Roses are like snaps, and thorns are like "Thorns to Suzy for prank calling me at 3 AM" or "Thorns to Jenny for not going to the XYZ party." Thorns aren't meant to be vindictive, just kind of embarassing!

Ok, I broke down and saw this with my husband when I was visiting him in Memphis this weekend and I have to say that I had a great time!

I laughed my a$$ off when Luke Wilson's character told Elle that an apartment in DC had been arranged for her through the "Delta Nu 24-hour Apartment Hotline"! I mean, that's just the type of thing non-greeks would really think we have!

Also, my favorite quote was when the older Delta Nu asked Elle what fraternity her intended was in and Elle answered, "I'm marrying outside of the greek system, but he's letter-worthy". Even my husband had to laugh at that.

Speaking of my husband and his eagle eyes, he caught a quick glance of a Delta Nu wearing an Elsa Peretti open heart pendant and said, "hey, don't you have that?" and in the scene where they were doing the telephone tree you could see that a lot of the girls were wearing the Tiffany bracelet that was so in vogue a few years ago and he asked me if everyone in a sorority had to have one! lol

I agree with three2tango and erniegurl that the best line in the movie is "It makes me want a hotdog REAL bad". Jennifer Coolidge is a real scene-stealer! Did anyone catch her waxing her little girls mustache???

Yes, that is THE best line!! I've been saying it ever since I saw the movie on Thursday. I also caught the mustache wazing while she, the daughter, was wearing her UPS uniform?

I didn't noitce that. FI and I saw it tonight and I had on my Elsa Peretti open heart and my round tag bracelet. I was also sporting a pink top.

The strangest thing about going to law school in the south is that its the reverse of what Elle experienced at Harvard. I'm the minority because I wasn't a sorority girl. Oh well, I like me

I saw it a coupla hours ago . I really liked it! I haven't decided yet if it's as good as Legally Blonde I but it was definitely worth a few bucks to go and see and it was very entertaining. I was surprised by the phone tree I knew chapters had these but didn't know they were organised to a chapter-chapter national level! Or perhaps that was just artistic licence in the film . Confused me a little when Elle said 5th from the top; as an alum I wasn't sure what she was 5th from the top of and how the non-alum (given as she was in a sorority house) could be 2nd. But maybe I should stop over analysing - it's a movie. Had anyone heard of the snap cup before? I think some people in this thread seemed to say their chapters share at meetings what some of the members have done since the last meet that's really good and the other members congratulate them by snapping their fingers instead of applauding? P.S I caught the KKG reference too .

I haven't seen it yet...was supposed to go with 2 sisters and plans got canceled...but SDT sisters will notice a refrence in there to us (I'm not saying more) that every SDT sister that I know commented on it right after they saw it....check out the SDT fourm for a lil more on that (but not much)

I saw it the other day, and I really didn't care for it... a little too corny for me. I liked the first one much better. However, I loved Reese's outfits... especially that tank with the sequins and multi-colored scarf!

How cute!

Semi-nasty article about the author of Legally Blonde and some of the whole LB phenomenon:

I both hated and loved the movie. I hated the gruff nature of the movie -- it was taking all sorts of shortcuts and didn't play or work as hard and made grave assumptions that people had seen the first movie -- but it was a true and friendly roast and I liked watching her and finding out that her dog was coming out and gay! All I know is that my dog is neuter!

I thought this movie was cute. I enjoyed it and I think that was the whole point...to entertain! I was certainly entertained and I would recommend it to anyone.

I also agree that the funniest line in the movie was "...it makes me want a hot dog real bad"

Well, I went to the video store to rent Under the Tuscan Sun but it doesn't come out until 2/3 so I got LB2, How to Lose a Guy in 10 days and Bringing Down the House (cause I thought hubby would like it)).

We watched about 20 minutes of the House and was bored so I stuck in LB2. It was pretty good. I loved the scenes with Bruiser. I am soooo glad AGD (as for as I know) doesn't do the snap thing. That wouuld drive me bananas! But, like KD, my chapter (at least when I was in school) did roses and thorns.
