I went to Baylor U last year and the TriDelts are pretty much known as the "smart, good girls", or at least thats what I heard.

The tri-delts on my campus are really nice girls but their chapter is one of the two weakest in our system. I know that nationally they are considered a great house.

The tri delts here at Nebraska are some of the nicest girls on campus. My best friend is in tri-delt, as are two other good friends. A girl I once dated in HS is in tri-delt at Kansas State, and a girl I've known since third grade whose family are good friends is a Tridelt at KU.

Tridelts at Nebraska are a quality house--they don't necessarily stand out that much, but are a bunch of down to earth girls, attractive but not bitchy b/c of it.

We have a frosh with them this thursday, so hopefully I'll meet a whole bunch more girls that won't tarnish my impression of their chapeter.

We did not have Tri-Delt at Kent, but I have a very positive, excellent image of them because my very best friend in the world was a DDD at Northwestern.......

Talking

Hey guys... I just wanted to bring this thread up again because I wanted to hear more comments about my sorority. Also, I'm following the trend since everyone is doing it. I'm in L.A. so I will tell you about the houses around here.

UCLA: despite what awatters says, I believe we are a good house. I haven't really heard we are sluts but that seems to be a national stereotype of tridelt. I depends who you talk to but we are a high second tier house or fighting for first tier position. We are considered to be a friendly house and you can hardly find someone who doesn't have a friend or girlfriend in the house. I would definitely consider us a friendly, down to earth house. We do activities with the "good" fraternites, but come on its all opinions anyway. I absolutely love my house so it really dosen't matter to me.

USC: has a really strong chapter and is in the top four. Sweetest girls ever and absolutely beautiful house.

The Tri-Delts here are definitely one of the top chapters on campus. They are nice-looking, have one of the highest GPAs of all the sororities, and I haven't run into one yet that I didn't like! People who aren't Greek know the stereotype and just assume that they're all like that, but they really aren't at all.

Tri-deltas Rock!

I love the Tri-Deltas at my school. Along with Theta, I preffed DDD and Kappa. The Tri-delts are such sweeties, always willing to help anyone out, Tri-delt or not, Greek or not. They are some of my best friends, and they seem like my sisters too though they are not Thetas!

Go Tri-Delt!

Greek love,

Tri-Delt at UA is unfortunately near the bottom, they aren't the best house. When I went through recruitment the girl that talked to me was so unbelievably rude that I dropped them right away. I've heard the name "Dumb Desperate Dogs" used to describe them. They, like the Sigma Kappa's here are kind of a mixed bunch. They have some real nice pretty girls then they have some real not nice girls we'll say. In my experience as a greek I haven't met any of them that I did not like but they didn't overly impress me either.

Another top house at FSU. I believe they are the largest sorority on campus (with around 200 girls). They have the reputation of being beautiful, blond, skinny, and partiers. They fraternity guys absolutely love them, but unfortunately I have not seen them mix very much with other Panhellenic groups. I don't know any FSU Tri Delts personally but I've had a couple in my classes and let's just say they didn't represent themselves well. They always came in very late to class together being loud and obnoxious. Then they would ask a million questions from the information that had already been clearly covered before they got there
However, I am friends with a Tri Delt at AU and she is one of the sweetest, smartest, most down to earth people I know.

Exclamation DDD at FSU

"Try a Delta- Everyone else has!" "Need a date? Try a Delta"
Those are common sayings @ FSU, where Tri-Delts are viewed as a good sorority w/ not such "Good Girls"

Not sure who you're hanging out with. My roommate was a Tri-Delt at FSU (she's now in law school with me). I've met a number of her sisters, seen her pictures, and heard her talk about them and that's not the impression I got of them at all.

EXTREMELY beautiful girls, very fashionable clothes. Can criticize some of them for being too "typical sorority girl" - i.e. too focused on going out, and shopping for the latest Kate Spade bag. They definitely seem to be fun party girls, but I wouldn't say "not good girls." My roommate is NOT a slut, and neither are the sisters I've met.

By the way, what the heck does your name mean? It looks like you were trying to say that you are so EXCITED at FSU (you are really enjoying yourself) but it says so EXITED (past tense of "exit," meaning leave) at FSU. Have you left FSU?

No hard feelings, just before you post mean stereotypes about another sorority's supposed sluttiness, you should make sure you're looking absolutely shiny and perfect yourself.

Angry

Before I get to the point, I must say that it's rather peculiar and pathetic that all of the individuals who are posting nasty, unfounded remarks about the Tri-Delta sorority aren't even members of this forum?! They are "guests" and don't have the class or courage to even put a name behind their catty (and grossly inaccurate I might add) comments.

Although my screen name kind of reveals myself, I will nevertheless be honest with you and say that:

1) I absolutely love my sorority and it has affected my life in a tremendously positive way. The women I have grown to know and love are fabulous and command respect. They have challenged me to be a better person and

2) There are bad apples in every bunch, but I reckon we have a much smaller ratio of those bad apples than in any other given population. I think that each one of us who has been a participant in the greek system can say that we've encountered someone we didn't click with, or who rubbed us the wrong way, but I would NEVER go so far as to say or even think that it reflects on the organization or system as a whole. To assume that because one person acted a little nasty or to make broad generalizations about a rumor you heard is a sad, and very immature way to approach life, and will close a lot of doors for you.

If any of you out there are genuinely interested in the rush experience or in the Tri-Delta sorority, I would be very happy to answer any questions you have, as long as you come into this with an open mind.

Thanks for listening...

Carrie

Carrie,

You have to realize that when a post about a specific GLO comes up there are going to be people who really like that Organization and others who don't. Everyone is just going on their own experiences.

Even you have to admit that every chapter is different, and what the people say might be true...If you had gone to another school, are you 100% sure you would have joined Tri-Delt?

As you say a few bad apples can ruin the barrel, and youre right that people shouldn't judge every member by a few or by an entire chapter, however I'd like to think that we, as greeks, are more capable to look past reputations - so don't think that someone is going to make assumptions about you based on your membership...That's something that Independents are likely to do.

In closing, don't take everythign to heart on this board from members or not. Just enjoy the fact that most of the posts are overwhelmingly positive.
