Pardon this vent/
I wish this could become law but then that would be the type of government-run society that we don't want. PEOPLE...PLEASE...PUT...YOUR PHONES AND OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICES AWAY! I hate seeing people sitting with each other and everyone is messing with an electronic device. Generally speaking and in societies in which this pertains, people are becoming more and more pathetic every day but we're too stupid to notice because we're so impressed with the technology. We have a generation of people in some societies who do not know life before the Internet and they speak and type coursework in text-language. Teachers and college professors (those who care) are having to buffer the effects of this brain attack. All of this is highlighted when I see groups of adults sitting together at restaurants and social events looking at their electronic devices. A quick look is fine if you have something you absolutely have to do right then and there. But a bunch of people not knowing how to talk face-to-face because they are talking to a damn screen all day? Please people...stop that mess. I have a rule with my friends (my family doesn't need it because all of us have low tolerance for technology, hate facebook, etc.) that we have to talk to each other when we are around each other. Put the damn phones away. I don't give a shit about your facebook, your twitter, your Instagram, whatever else, and don't you DARE take photos of yourself, us, or the food and post it on the Internet while we're sitting together at a restaurant or event. I hated and stayed away from photos before the Internet and definitely hate and stay away from photos now that people can't stop sharing their every breath with the Internet.
And speaking of, for the love of all that is holy, except for extenuating circumstances, it is corny as hell to text with someone who is sitting at the table. I was with a group last night and two of them started texting each other from across the table. I called them out because I could tell they were texting each other. Look, go sit beside each other or something. If you want to flirt, it is corny to need a text (a joking "you look sexy" text can be tolerated but a nonstop back and forth is corny). If you are talking negatively about the people at the table, fuck you, say it to our faces. We are RIGHT HERE. LOL.

Hello, Pippa! And what happens in Vegas should stay in Vegas. We could have a whole thread on Royal shenanigans rules.

I actually prefer the re-usable ones. They are easier to carry, don't break, can hold more- they are just never with me when I shop. They need a place on grocery carts to put them while you're shopping- like a little pouch on the cart so they don't end up UNDER all the groceries. I feel weird when I have bags from one grocery store and I'm at a different one- so I don't use my Kroger re-usable bags at Walmart, for example. Usually, when I get home from shopping, I carry in a few things, grab those bags and then put all the little plastic flimsy bags into them. I know that's a fail, but then I re-use the plastic ones as I mentioned, to reduced my guilt.

Yield signs mean to yield therefore:
1. I slow down and stop at yield signs when I cannot see whether there is an oncoming car. If the street is conducive to seeing there isn't an oncoming car as I drive to the yield sign, I keep going.
2. Yield signs mean to yield and stop when there are cars coming. It is unfortunate when people think "yield" means to race in front of the oncoming car rather than stopping for the oncoming car.

Once I was following a state trooper just as we approached a construction zone. There were about 4 signs that said, "Left Lane Closed in 1 mile, 1/2 mile, etc." and a guy tried to pull this. He zooms up next to me, sees the police car, and slams on the brakes. The trooper waved him in, to merge in front of him. Then he turned on his flashers and pulled the guy over. BEST. TIMING. EVER.

My thing is somewhat weird (for others) but, it really does get me. I hate when people use Walmart (or other store plastic) bags as garbage bags in their bathroom garbage can. They make small garbage bags you can get at stores--even the dollar store. I don't need to know that your bathroom garbage bag represents that you went to the Dollar Tree. I don't know why but, it really gets under my skin. The funny thing is that all of my family does it but, I don't. It really annoys me.

Ha, you'd hate my house. If find a way to re-use those bags for anything. Bathroom trash bags. Barf bucket liners. Especially nasty diapers get double bagged in them before going into the diaper pail. And so on.

Getting back to toilet paper rolls, there must already be an unwritten rule that public toilets using GIANT SIZE WHEELS OF TP (12-18 inches across when sideways) place them in dispensers a mere 18 inches off the ground.
Meaning you'd have to be 14 inches tall to reach up into the dispenser to get some TP.
Or lay down on the floor and reach up into the dispenser.
Or attempt to contort/jam your arm waaaaay up into dispenser, because the roll has been in there for a month and still has 1/3 of a roll left.
Shouldn't the better unwritten rule in a public toilet TP situation be convenience for the user, not a gymnastics event sponsored by the corporation making said GIANT WHEEL OF TP?

When I hand you my phone to show you a picture on it, you do not proceed to swipe through all my other pics. I said "Look." Not swipe through everything.

I am small, you do not need to comment on it all the time. (i.e. "wow you're short!")
You do not touch other people's children in public. I was out with my god-daughter, and a woman once pinched her cheeks in public and I almost fell out.

And you don't need to be picking someone up to show that she's small, either.

Agree about the reusable bags, and if you're not shopping for much, you don't need a cart or basket. The trick is remembering to put them back in my car so I have them at the store.

Same with people who are tall. I have a co-worker who is almost 7'0" and I feel so badly for him when new people walk it and immediately yell "WHOOOAAAA HE'S LIKE A GIRAFFE! LOOK AT HIS FEET! HEY, CAN I TAKE A PICTURE WITH YOU???" He's a good sport but he has got to want to choke some people.

If a stranger touched my goddaughter, s/he would have to put on the whole armor of God.

The same applies to adults. Don't randomly touch someone's body including hair. You may love my Angela Davis Afro but I will "power to the people" fist pump you in the throat if you touch it. I have had colleagues and complete strangers do that and it takes everything in me not to get mad.
