I'm new to this board, and I'm a TriSigma from Alaska.
Our mascot/symbol is the Sailboat (for Ever-Forward motion).
Our jewel is the pearl.
Our flower is the purple violet.

Phi Mu has the ladybug as their mascot too. We adopted it a couple decades ago at a National convention for chapters that have an ADPi on their campus. We use the lion most of the time, it is our official mascot; but if ADPi is on campus first, we use the ladybug out of respect for their lion mascot. Our chapter first came to UF in 1949 with ADPi so we both used the lion. We left for a while and came back a few years ago, now we use both the lion and the ladybug. Both are our national mascots, but most chapters will use one or the other.
Hope that clears up some of the confusion.

I think that the confusion is, is that some chapters have their own LOCAL mascott while there truly is a NATIONAL mascott. For example I know the national mascott for AOII is the Panda Bear. I'm sure as mentioned above that some will adapt their mascotts if there is another sorority on campus sporting the same one as theirs.
Maybe that clears up some of the confusion.
