Because someone was on the train to Pantywadsville and thought they'd stop here along the way?

In 99.9% of the cases, your second recruitment is going to be less successful than your first one and you need to know that going in. Blowing alumna sunshine up people's butts about how things "should" be is not going to change it.
This seriously made me laugh so hard. Hahahahahahaha still dying a little

I think where the advice "keep an open mind" comes in handiest is when a girl has gone back at least three times and still feels iffy about a chapter or just doesn't know.
My point is I don't think she was trying to begin with. I think she went into rush with the "ABC and XYZ take everyone" stereotype firmly planted in her brain and didn't bother to find out if the "everyone" they took included people that she would truly like and love as sisters. And even when she said "I'll keep an open mind if I go through again!" she persisted in repeating the stereotype in her posts.

I clearly need to start staying home, because this is what I miss when I leave. Wow.

Understood. If she rerushes, it's best done with an open heart and an open mind.

A "stuff Violet Missed while at Convention" thread would be really helpful. I don't even know who all the trolls are now

I'm pretty shocked this whole thread went like this. I do have to say that the OP came off as rude and with a "better than you" attitude. I realize many of these women are 18-19 years-old but, when do we start letting them take responsibility for their own actions? By saying, "Oh, well no young woman who is 18-19-20 years-old, knows the type of commitment she is making or that a sorority is forever." If you have been accepted to a college/ university and have basic literacy skills, there is no excuse for choosing to ignore the national websites of the sororities on your campus.

Every NPC has something to offer. I've said it before. I'll say it again. There really is no excuse for ignorance.
