I heard back from my friends this morning who left last week to finalize their adoption in Russia. They were able to process the adoption through 1 hour BEFORE Russia officially stopped adoptions to the United States. They will get custody of her on APril 27th, get all of her paperwork and then bring her home to Kentucky on May 3rd.

After reading Victor Malarek's book "The Johns", I would predict that the majority of these children are born from trafficked, enslaved women who have had to sexually service multiples of men every single day (and don't count of there being any "protection" either. Some Johns also refuse condoms and rape the women.). The fetal alcohol syndrome prevalence would be a part of this -- who wouldn't turn to alcohol as a survival mechanism if they were enslaved?

As for Russia providing information on the child being adopted, I wouldn't count on total honesty and transparency.
