I wish you girls had a NYC chapter...I looked in BSP a few years ago and I'm still interested, I just don't know enough people that are to look into starting a new chapter!

You know, I had a fit the other day because no one knew what BFE or FUBAR meant! I thought that was common knowledge. I mean, really, both have been around since WWII along with SNAFU. Out of 50 people I quizzed at my hospital, only 2 people knew the meaning and they were both over 50!

I've never heard it...but thanks, it's nice to know! And NYC is totally not BFE!

You've learned a good term for the boondocks! We use it quite frequently in the south.

I'm a fan of BOHICA, which goes along nicely with snafu and fubar.

i thought "snafu" was a word, not an acronym. and FUBAR is awesome. my gym teacher used to use it all the time. he'd use it as an adjective, it was great.

I really like BOHICA myself. Guys in the military get really creative with their profanity, that's for sure.

Like White Castle. Me and my pledgebrothers spent 2 hours looking for one in Manhattan.

They should change the name of that place to Colon Cleanse! My stomach hurts thinking about that place!

I'm not sure if there are any in Manhattan but there are 2 I know of in Brooklyn!

BOHICA stands for Bend Over, Here It Comes Again. And apparently there are two Murder Burgers in Manhattan, and we did find one of them. It was worth the trek though.

ETA: And since it has yet to be spelled out, the PC translation of FUBAR is Fouled Up Beyond All Repair/Recognition/Recovery.
