Wow. I really loved reading your story. For a PNM like me it makes me super excited for the rest of recruitment and also shows that the process REALLY works and is totally worth going through. Congratulations and thanks for sharing!

I guess that Donner and Blitzen are used since they mean Thunder and Lightning in German...they're easier to remember.

Good story, scrantonicity! Yay for your Chi O bid!

It is Donner. The original name was Dunder, which was changed to Donder, and later to Donner.

Also, Blitzen was originally Blixem.

That was a great story and so fun to read! What strikes me time and again in these stories is what you think is your "first" choice at first is not usually where you end up. It's such a great lesson for girls to be open-minded. Also, it's interesting to me that one member in a chapter can color your whole opinion of that chapter. I know when my daughter was going through recruitment she said one girl she spoke with was actually rude to her, which made her question the whole chapter.

Stories like this should be published with Rush material. Give those that are rushing a better insight and feeling as to what to expect as well as remind some Brothers and Sisters that everything do, or don't do, can have a huge impact on their rush classes.

Funny you should 'say' this. I've already printed, and planning on providing this great story, amongst many more true 'stories' and 'facts' during my Recruitment Information evening this spring, and to the over the 100 PNM's providing resumes, and the three local alumnae panhellenics, the three collegiate panhellenics I work with, AND my alumnae chapter. This was another great 'short' story.

Congratulations Scrantonicity on finding YOUR HOME, for not only a short time in college, but hopefully many, many years as an alumna!
