Yeah well you also don't see the sarcasm in it.

A) if you use my words then get them right
B) It wasn't directed specifically at you
C) I see the sarcasm, doesn't mean that some people don't feel that way

1) "has" becomes "having" when it needs to
2) I gotcha but you quoted something from my post.
3) Yep.

That's not quoting, and I didn't quote anything fron you.
ETA: I see what you're referring to but that wasn't a quote (hence the lack of quotation) it was my own words.

Ok Drolefille seriously, enough already. Buttonz came on here to ask questions of the NPHC members because she was upset about her sister joining one of the four sororities. Your sorority is not involved, you do not know all of the NPHC policies, and your opinion is not the one she's looking for in here. Give it a rest already.

I agree.

I know smarty pants.
Just pointing out how sentence structure could lead to a misunderstanding. Do they do diagramming in school anymore?

LOL! I missed the sarcasm, my bad.
I don't think they do diagramming anymore. I didn't learn it until 7th grade though, and I have never taught that level. So I could be wrong.

Yes, I did it in an elective in undergrad, Traditional Grammar. I dropped out of that class! And, so did a lot of other students.

Buttonz,
Here's another take on this. Calling the orgs HQ might get the whole chapter in trouble. It is quite possible that the members knew of her previous affilitation and decided to ignore it.
Do you want to have a whole chapter of women angry with you? Seriously, I suggest you PM a member of that org here on GC and let them take it from there.
You don't want it to become a racial issue.

Why is it anyone's business that she joined another group? It is a personal matter. I'm playing devil's advocate, and a little curious why you people are so upset about it. If it doesn't harm SDT or the "she who must not be named" NPHC, why the drama?

I don't see how this situation is any different than if this woman had joined another NPC versus an NPHC. I don't see it as a racial issue at all, I see it as an issue of a woman who knowingly deceived two groups that either frown upon or outrightly ban dual membership.
If the members in her new org knew of her previous affiliation and igonored it, that's for their HQs to handle and if they get in trouble then oh well. It's not buttonz' problem that they broke the rules. I would be happy if I were in that org and somebody notified me about someone's membership in an NPC org, as it would allow me to weed out a member that had been potentially deceitful.

It does harm SDT and the other org, and that's exactly everyone's problem with it. There's a thing called ritual and lifetime membership. I would think most members of a GLO -- and certainly on a National level -- take ritual and the idea of lifetime membership very seriously. The idea of dual membership, at least in my mind, degrades these two elements of sorority membership and I'm pretty sure their nationals would agree with me.

I think we learned that in 6th -- and I really sucked at it. I remember being really embarassed because I was Miss Smarty Pants and I totally sucked at diagramming.
