Really now.
To set the record straight, we were NOT founded by a transfer student. A legitamate KKG who went to UConn happened to be best friends with an SCSU student who wanted to start an organization. So the material that we had (yes, past tense) came from a creeper of a KKG, not a theiving KG. We never approached KKG to affiliate because we had no interest. We have our local pride, and weren't interested in being a NPC group. We've since changed our badge and symbols, so we have no connection whatsoever with KKG.
And the poster SCSUgirl who got ya'll so riled up is full of shit. She wasn't trying to rush us. We aren't even HAVING A RUSH this spring. My guess would be that she's already part of an organization at SCSU and is trying to slander us. It's okay to be jealous, honey, but this is a bit much
Any further questions as to the legitamacy of our organization can be directed to our President at kappagamma1213@yahoo.com

and i wanted to add
I think it's hilarious that on the chapter's myspace page, they are listed as "swingers"
Status: Swinger
Hometown: New Haven, Connecticut
Zodiac Sign: Sagittarius
Education: In college
http://www.myspace.com/kappagammasisters
If I was a pnm I'm not sure I would want to join a group that was openly into the whole swinging thing...

I don't think anyone here is "stressing". But let me point out that had the group not received so much criticism they might not have changed everything they stole from Kappa Kappa Gamma. I know of no other NPC group called "Kappa" - the only one who might, Kappa Alpha Theta,is most definitely "Theta", so I don't understand what you mean about the names. Several national fraternities and sororities changed their original name when they learned an earlier group already had it - ADII and Sigma Chi spring to mind. The whole subject would have been dropped had not the latest "Kappa Gamma" chosen to come here and act in such a defensive and unladylike manner. Having done so, she's painted a target on her group. She chose to revisit the subject - and having done so, should expect that those who feel strongly about the subject of copycat groups might have something to say.
Should you not like the criticism leveled at the group, might I suggest you not visit the thread?
eta - I believe you mean "moot", not "mute".

So i writing this post calling out KGSCSU because i WAS a student at scsu and knew women in KG back before your "changes" took place i'm not sure when you became a sister but you might wish to speak with older sisters because i knew girls in KG and i was told by them about talks to affiliate as for the copying i feel nothing more needs to be said.
On a side note another sorority at SCSU Omega Zeta Pi was founded by girls who had been in Phi Sigma Sigma but got their charter removed by nationals and a semester later started OZP. So in my opinion as a former SCSU student is with the exception of DPHIE a reputable national organization the validity of locals at SCSU should not be taken seriously.
ETA: While anyone has any right to question KG one should take into account that most if not all of the sisters in the sorority presently had nothing to do with the founding and have suposebly worked to change the similarities. Also i feel that along with examining the sorority one should question the student affairs office at SCSU for allowing either of the above mentioned sororities to be created and sanctioned by the school especially since SCSU has a reputable National sorority on campus and the image of the two locals could adversely influence the image of the National sorority.
Stepping off my soap box now. . . . . .

That makes sense.
Just remember that punctuation can be your friend. It is certainly your readers' friend.

No. We just think you don't really have full control of standard written English or a keyboard.

Ok so i never imagined when i wrote this post that it would blow up like this. My intent was not to cause trouble or slander any organization and I am terribly sorry if that has occurred. If there is any way to delete this post maybe that could be done?

You can delete your posts, but that's about it. The thread will stay open as long as the discussion remains civil.

It appears as if they've been doing some "editing" on their myspace page. They're now listed as "single" instead of "swinger." LOL.
And I think it is funny that they say they've "changed" all their colors and symbols. Thank god, they did give up the golden key badge on this new edited Myspace page. But there is all this BS on there about how their colors are navy blue and turquoise. Yep, that is SO different than dark and light blue. I'm sure no one will be confused with shirts in two shades of blue that say "Kappa."
Long story short: you may think you've got something unique, but in the end you're nothing more than wannabe sorority hacks. If you thought you could have survived without mooching off of KKG's established reputation you woudn't choose to continue with KKG's colors. Personally, I'd give you some slack if you changed to blue and gold, blue and silver, or blue and purple. Something besides blue and blue. You just don't want to give it up, huh? Is it that you know you can't survive without being a leech?
