Lightbulb I think I've got it!

Okay, the ADPi badge has the two hands...isn't the claddagh ring Irish? Don't those two hands resemble a claddagh ring?

It's looking like early May might be the best for me - but I don't think I can wait a little over a month! I'm just dying to finally be an official sister.

Clue #5: This organization was founded in the 19th century.
Ok I think this is blowing my whole theory out of the water.....gee thanks lake now I have to go and do it again

My reasons for my choice:

First Clue: I mentioned earlier that I'm only aware of one other AI mentioned for this group so far in this forum.

this one had me stumped a bit, I was thinking about the old AI thread and not the current one..yep this is only one

Second Clue: It's sort of ironic that I found out I'll be able to pledge my lifelong loyalty to this house on or around St. Patrick's Day.

I believe she meant the city, at first I was thinking unversity colors, but I had the wrong university

Clue #3: Their badge is NOT a specific symbol, such as an anchor or a key.

This one threw me off a bit also, but if you look closely...there are TWO symbols...heh

Clue #4: My new group has three Greek letters in its name, not two
Yep.....triple letter

Clue #5: This organization was founded in the 19th century.
yeppers....1888

so if you haven't guessed, what my guess it....it is

DDD

My now two "dead" guesses were ZTA or Theta Phi Alpha (the michigan thing...yea wrong university and Father Kelly was the organizer)

I don't think it's Tri-Delta because lake said that the badge isn't an object. Tri-Delta's badge is a crescent on a trident.

This leaves ADPi, AGD and Zeta on the rollcall list as the others either have objects on their badges or are two letter GLOs (or both).

Since lake's new home was founded in the 19th century, it isn't (unfortunately) AGD.

This leaves ADPi and Zeta.

I would love to see lake as an ADPi - there is one reason why I think she might not be, but it may seem silly, so I don't want to say it

No matter what organization it winds up being, congratulations!!!

FINAL CLUE

I'm going to drop my check in the mail today that will cover my initiation fee and badge.

I've also forwarded a potential initiation date to the AI coordinator. I may have to wait until May, but hopefully I'll be able to make an official announcement to my GC friends within a few days!!

FINAL CLUE: The identity of my new home has been correctly guessed during the course of this thread.

I think we should pin her down and stick bamboo shoots under her fingernails until she talks, what do you think?

Can you tell us if it will be a plain badge or a jeweled one, and what jewels will they be?

Like polarpi- I don't think it's ADPi either. If it is, I'll just be pleasently surprised. I don't, however, have any idea as to which organization it IS! I guess we'll all just have to remain in suspense.

Okay here is my guessing. He he.

First Clue:
I mentioned earlier that I'm only aware of one other AI mentioned for this group so far in this forum.

First I gotta thank Taualumna for the chapters. Thanks!

ADPi
AGD
Tri Delt
DZ
Sigma Kappa
Phi Mu
ZTA
DPhiE

With this clue, I could only really guess those seven. Woo not very good guess.

Second Clue (this one's lame, I admit, I'll do better for the next clue):
It's sort of ironic that I found out I'll be able to pledge my lifelong loyalty to this house on or around St. Patrick's Day.

So DPhiE’s founders day is on St. Patrick’s day. ADPi and AGD are the next closest in May. So my top “3” choices would be those.

So I continued reading and learned that DPhiE was NOT one of the choices, so now the two choices are ADPi and AGD.

Clue #3: Their badge is NOT a specific symbol, such as an anchor or a key.

This clues still leaves ADPi and AGD in the running because we are a diamond and AGD has their greek letters for the badge.

So still either ADPi or AGD

Clue #4: My new group has three Greek letters in its name, not two.

So obviously DZ, Phi Mu and Sigma Kappa are out of the running now, but in my logic they were out the running previously.

So my guess would still be ADPi or AGD

Clue #5: This organization was founded in the 19th century.

ADPi was founded in 1851; AGD was founded in 1904. So with that said ADPi is the only one of my two remaining guesses that was founded in the 19th century.

Now the last clue was that it was already guessed, well that could be any of them at this point.

Okay here is my logic to why I think it might be ADPi (and just because I want her to be my sister).

Obviously the clues above lead be to believe she might be a potential sister, but ADPi used to have three active collegiate chapters in MN, and we have an alumnae association there. So I believe it is possible for her to have contacted the AA there and question AI.

Now, ZTA wasn't on my list and that is because of clue number two. ZTA's founders day is in October, so not near 3/17. Plus, AXiD670 made a great point about the Claddagh ring, the Claddagh does have two hands in it (although not clasped but holding a heart).

As for where she lives, ZTA does have an AA in MN but has NO chapters there and never has. Again, we have but their now closed.

I really do think that Lake will say she is going to be a Macon Magnolia, but I could be totally wrong.

Though, the suspense is killing me!!!!!

But didn't lake say something about making arrangements with a collegiate chapter? Or does she mean the area she's moving to later this year?

Taualumna, I took it as she wants to initiate once she moves. Now not knowing where she is moving to, I wouldn't be able to hazard a guess what chapters are there.

But she can always initiate at a collegiate chapter nearby. You'd be surprised where we have AA's but no active chapters anymore.

We had a chapter at the University of Minnesota that closed back in the 1950's.
