TCV, I'm sorry to hear Org 1 is being so frustrating - it seems like Org 2 wants you much more at this point, but if you feel like you still have options in 1, then keep exploring it. We all just want you to find the home that's right for you!

No need to make a decision this minute. Pathways are opening up with both organizations. As hard as it is, just wait and see what happens next. I certainly wouldn't put Org #2 on hold for Org #1, but I wouldn't end things with Org #1 either. Let the timing of things lead you.

Thanks you guys for reminding me to keep my options open. It seems that there are "pathways" open on both, but one is wide and the other narrow....sounds familiar
The Coordinator from my Org#1 has offered help with informing the alum about A.I. So I gave her some contact numbers. I hope this works. Also, I don't even know for sure if the alum know that they should speak with her and not directly with HQ. Oh, well.
Still waiting to find my home.....

Hey guys,
Here's an update...
The alum pres of org#2 called me last night to wish me happy birthday...aww how sweet! I didn't think that she remebered.
Anyway, we chatted a little and she happen to mention that she just came from a panehellenic meeting...gasp! She mentioned that she sat next to another glo and chatted with her (not my org#1...thank goodness). Then she began to name the other glo that were there and she happen to name first my org#1...gulp!! I started to get this chill down my back. I started to think what excuse am I going to give if I am "found out." Man, you guys it was the longest two minutes of my life!! The conversation moved on. I think that if she did happen to meet org#1 and happen to share the A.I info and heard my name she would have right then and there question me. She is a frank and honest person. So I think I'm ok, for now. But this had got me thinking that pursuing these two orgs at once has become very risky. What do 'ya think? I am a little scared but I'm gonna have to make a choice. For now I am going,"Whew!"

Lightbulb

As has been mentioned before, going AI is a lot like Rusheeing in college but harder!

If one is mentioniing you, maybe the other will think, HMMMM, did I miss something?

If so, why is she looking at other Greek Orgs.

If the question is asked why you were looking else where, the answer is plain and simple, well, You were My First Choice but never heard anything back. Figured was not accepted.

Hi guys,
I need some advice here. To make it easier I will name my first choice FLUTE and second choice CLARINET

I found out through the national website that Flute was going to have their annual fundraiser for their local philanthropy. I marked my calendar so I can be reminded to go and support. The thing is that I still have not been contacted by the alumnae that was supposed to give me the heads up or down at all. It's been about a month. So, I was kinda fickle about going but I thought "Hey, maybe my actions will speak louder than words that I am serious about my persuit of A.I." So I left a message with the local alum pres that I will attend the event for support. I didn't get a response back. I showed up at the event and there weren't that many alumnae there. I introduced myself to one of the alums and let her know in general of my persuit. She gave me a warm welcome and was delightful that I donated to their cause. When I asked if the alum pres was here she said no but gave me the number of another alum who was a formal national officer and said to give her a call. Ofcourse, I accepted her advice but hesistant at the same time. The alum name she gave was the one that was to contact me some time ago and still has not. So as much as I am tempted to call her my "pride" sort of gets in the way. My attitude is that word will get back with the alumnae contact that I supported their event and see that I am not just "fooling" around. What do you guys advice? As far as Clarinet goes things are still moving really slow.
Frustrated,
~TCV

Hi there!
I know you are only looking at 2 GLOs, but I keep getting confused. I thought that CLARINET was the same as "org #2" in your earlier post. Am I right? I thought things were moving along better with them than FLUTE/org #1. Am I just confused?

Anyway...I can totally understand your frustration. It sounds like you might be as confused as I am But I'm glad that you got a warm response from the alumna you spoke with at the fundraiser. That's a good thing! I don't really have any advice, but I'm cheering you on

Sorry guys for the confusion
Flute was Org 1(Hesistant) and Clarinet was Org 2(Welcoming arms)

Basically youre right DGMarie. I should just stick with Clarinet since they have been really nice to me. We'll see
Thanks

I think I've got it straight now Like I've said before, there is no need to totally cut off one group. But like DGMarie said, you may want to concentrate your efforts where you are getting the best response. There may be a very legitimate reason why one group is not jumping at the chance to welcome an AI right now. It could have nothing to do with you personally, but until that becomes evident, enjoy the relationship that you are forming with the other group.

Hey guys,
Sorry I have been out for a while. Things are still moving slowly. I still am in touch with the alum pres but she is awfully busy right now with events going on with the collegiate chapter. I will keep you posted with future events coming up.
Thanks for all the support!
~Tania
