I'm a Mary Kay girl all the way! I love their eyeshadows, lipsticks, and Velocity line.
For some other items I'll go for Jane eyeliner, Revelon foundation, and I have a favorite Cover Girl eyeshadow I like to wear when I go clubbin'!

Ok, here goes:

Face: I stick to the basics here...Cover Girl foundation or powder...sometimes if I have a big party to go to, I mix a bit of the foundation, some moisturizer, and some shimmering loose powder together and slather that on my face. Very shimmery.

Cheeks: in the summer I use Cover Girl, and in the winter I use Avon Sheer Cheek Tint...I'm all about the "why yes, I did just finish skiing" flush

Lips: I'm such a gloss whore...I have like, 10 different kinds all over.

Eyes: Hard Candy glitter liners-eye liner with glitter in them, love the colors!!. Also, Stila eyeshadow in Diamond Lil.

I just luf anything Stila; whenever I'm splurging on make-up, thats the counter I head straight for.

Gammazetagrl, you know what, I'm always frustrated when I get a makeover done, b/c usually the MA puts too much unnatural makeup on my eyes! I'm also an Asian, and though I have double-lidded eyes and creases (as opposed to typical single lids for Asians), my creases (and eyes) are not as big as the typical Caucasian's. The MA forgets that, it seems, and totally overdos the eye makeup, causing me to look like some hooker! LOL.

Anyhow, I did have one successful makeover done a few months ago, for a college interview (which went very well, I'm glad to say! ). It was at MAC. God, I love that line. So practical, no-nonsense, sleek...

The MA applied these things on me, and I was so happy with the products that I bought them:

1) Sheer Studio Finish Matte Foundation in NC35
2) Matte Blush in Prism (love the color - pinkish brown, the perfect color)
3) Pro Lash in Coal (best mascara I've ever tried- and I've tried too many to count!)
4) Eyeshadow in Malt (perfect nude color as a base for the eyes...doesn't look like makeup at all)
5) Lipstick in Taupe (great color, can be toned down for day, turned up a notch for night)

I do have a favorite that's non-MAC though, haha. I do love Benefit's Eggplant Mascara. Though it doesn't give as much an eye-opening look as does the MAC Pro Lash, it's a beautiful color which brings out the golden flecks in my brown eyes. It's also super-conditioning and smells wonderful (rosewater).

ladyj - hey there! I haven't talked to you in a while...how are you? Anyhow, I know what you mean about Sephora, too! God, I could live there .

Oh, I have a question for those who wear MAC foundation - is it just me, or do they smell a tad bit? The smell reminds me of rubber or something!

Newbie -- I think all MAC makeup smells and I can't wear it for that reason. Some of my friends insist that the lipsticks smell like vanilla but I can't smell anything that resembles vanilla (and I don't really like vanilla scent anyway).

Glad to hear your college interview went well. Where do you want to go?

Thanks for your post, lauradav! Yes, their lipsticks do smell like vanilla, but I have no prob with that as at least that smells good! LOL.

Well, I do want to go to the University of Southern California. I'm holding my breath, though, because it's getting soo competitive these days. Their avg GPA and SAT scores are scary. I think I read in previous posts that your alma mater is UCLA? I'll be dodging bullets, now! J/K. My sister went to UCLA and is disappointed that I want to become a Trojan. She never forgets to bash 'SC! My top three choices are all in SoCal, and I'm hoping that I can at least get into one of them...and be happy there, of course!

Was the Alpha Phi you met this summer from USC? Just out of curiousity b/c the shirts you described in your post were USC shirts a couple of years ago and it sounded like something that one of my girls would say. I went to USC for law school and while I am a die hard Bruin I definitely understand why people want to be a part of the Trojan family.

Yay Car! I'm glad you're still interested in USC. Keep me posted on how that goes. I am looking at Grad school there and (yikes) UCLA.

Clinique concealer smells too--I have a realllly sensitive sense of smell and it drove me nuts for the first few weeks I used it--only that its such great concealer kept me using it and now I don't notice the smell anymore.

Hi amycat412

I'm curious as to which Clinique concealer you use?

Lauradav, actually, the A-Phi I met was from UC Santa Barbara! (Another school that I wish to attend.) I have not met any USC A-Phis, but if they're as cool as the one I met from UCSB, they would be awesome. Is it true that Maile from the pop group Eden's Crush/Popstars was an Alpha Phi at UCLA? I asked my sister but she said she didn't know. Yes, I really want to become a part of the Trojan family! That is so ironic that you attended USC Law School. My sister has a few friends that ended up attending USC Film School after being an undergrad at UCLA.

Amycat, sorry I still haven't emailed you back! I will do so right after I post this. Guess what, I just submitted my USC app and I feel GREAT! No more college apps to fill . Good luck in your grad school quest! I think it'd be so cool if we both went to USC at the same time - me as an undergrad, you as a grad student .
