There is another free website called FitDay.com It has an online journal and a great carb counter. You put in the food and it tells you how many cals and carbs it is. I was amazed at how many carbs can be in just everyday food!

I walked a 5K on Sunday and I feel great. There were a lot of hills on the course and I was regularly gasping for air. It was too funny when women much older than myself were breezing past me with ease.

How embarrassing! I've got my work cut out for me.

I'm like you, lovelyivy84. I'm not a morning person at all. It doesn't matter how much sleep I get the night before, I'll still feel tired and sleepy trying to get out of bed. To have to get up really early to do ANYthing is a chore for me, so you know working out is out of the question. I can't explain it, but mornings feel really lonely to me. I just remember being left at the Kindergarten and my mommie saying goodbye to me, and I'd cry for the rest of the day. That's what mornings feel like to me, ... really, really lonesome. But then, once I get a hold to some fresh brewed Starbucks, then I'm good to go and life is just great!

Music while running races

They are considered to be pacing devices (which in reality music is) and also quite dangerous when running with 5,000 other people.

If you train with a program (like TNT) they won't let you train with music either so you can learn how to self-pace and get used to running and only having your mind to entertain you. Its wise to do this even if you train alone b/c if you've practiced for six months w/ headphones and then try to run race day w/o it will wig you out.

This was a big shock to me when I started training, so I thought I'd share.

I've done numerous races in CA, including three 1/2 marathons and so many 5ks and 10ks I've lost track. I've NEVER had any race official tell me I can't wear my headphones, but it may be different for triathalons or biathalons. I haven't done TNT but I have talked to others who have, and they confirmed that they don't let you use music.

Yes- discovering coffee has really opened up a whole new world for me, lol. With McDonald's coffee I could ALMOST get to like mornings. Not enough toe xercise, but you know, not be mad at the world.

So last Saturday I took my first spinning class and it was no joke. Seeing that I'm on the stationary bike 5 days a week I got talked into trying the early morning spin class last Saturday. yeah mylegs were soar, but my butt was more soar, so me thinking that I liked it went out and bought a gel-bike seat and took another class yesterday, and it's better. I really see how people get into spinning. You burn a ton of calories, and sweat like crazy. So I did 30 mins on the treadmill, 45 mins spinning, 30 mins on the elliptical, and then 30 mins on the stationary bike and it felt good. Burned over 2,000 calories. went home showered and went back to bed, it was only 9:30 so I needed more sleep.

I ate about 1ish and then about 4:15 I went to the track around at the high school and walked the track at a vigorous pace and worked up a sweat, then I took to the steps and ran up and down 5 times, and then went back to walking the track and then ran up the steps 5 more times and then around the track some more. I ended up being out on the track for 1.5 hours...yeah I was getting it in yesterday. Came back home showered and went to a bbq , oh and let me say that running those steps were no joke. but it all felt very good.

I was trying to look back and see when was the last time I posted up in this thread and I find this mess.

I'm jumping on the bandwagon peoples!!! I joined WW at work today and I signed up for SparkPeople over the weekend. I'm LOVING that website...excellent resource.

I'm going to do Flex Points and phase myself into CORE. I'm also walking as my form of exercise for now.

Hey Ya'll, I'm back from vacation in St. Lucia and I had a BALL!! I ate and drank like I stole something LOL, but I also did water aerobics and did tons of walking up and down the hill (our resort was built on a mountain). I hope I didn't put on any pounds, but tomorrow at WW we shall see.

Treblk, I was wondering if you got it in while gone, and I'm glad that you did....

YAY, TT!!! LOL Good luck with WW!! I know you'll do great.

Hey y'all! *waving* Just poppin' in with a little update. Well, not really anything to update. Still in the 170's. Not doing too much to get out of them, to tell you the truth. Still in a size 12 bottoms (I have one size 10 Old Navy jean skirt that I rock) and Medium tops. Still walking (running a little bit). Training for the marathon? Oh, I don't know (I haven't been sticking to my training schedule). I know I'm not fundraising, that's for sure. Not sure if I was ready for TNT like I thought I was. My life's all up in the air right now (same script, slightly different cast, still starring yours truly). Went to DC last week and people called me skinny. I didn't like it. At all. I've blogged about it... let it go, I guess.

The highlight of my week? I flew home from DC. And I FIT in the seat COMFORTABLY!!!!! No fat touching the people sitting next to me, and I was in the middle seat!!!! No problem with the seatbelt. AND I didn't have to turn sideways to walk down the aisle. It was a great experience. It really is the little things.

BB91, where did you decide to go for your sesquicentennial trip?

I LOVE coming to this thread and seeing everyone still on track and stuff. Helps me get back on track.

I have managed to lose about 4 pounds and am 6 pounds away from my first mini-goal. I get paid tomorrow and I am going to try to spare some money to get my gym membership back up and running. I MUST get back into the gym. I am TOO lazy to even get on a treadmill that I have right in the next room!! What's up with that? I was VERY consistent with my exercise when I was a member of the gym. I need that back.

It's slow going, but I am getting there.

I'm like you, then. I have a treadmill in the front room, and I will find every reason in this world NOT to use it. It's like the more convenient we make it for ourselves to workout, the less we do. Ain't that crazy?!? Go figure ...

OK, my poorness snapped me back into reality. LOL! I don't think I'll be joining the gym for another two months. Therefore, I am going to start praying to the Lord for discipline so that I may drag myself into that room and use that treadmill. I have to get myself together. I am going to look for a walking program online. I already have the Couch-to-5K program printed and pinned to the wall. I need to start doing it. Man, I REALLY need to do it!!

My eating is still under control. I still crave snacks every now and then. I try to satisfy them by eating fruit or drinking a cup of tea. However, sometimes, I just need to give in. I need to find some fulfilling low cal snacks. I had gotten hooked on 100 calorie packs, but sometimes, they just don't hit the spot. Know what I mean? Sigh....

This weight loss thing is CRAZY! LOL!
