Oh Great! Now Obama was a Child Terrorist! Barack was born in 1961...so...how exactly did he participate. From this point on, the Republicans have gone too far.

...talk about thorough

I've done voter registration at my church for about a month or so. We have two services (8/ 10:45) and make registration available between and after services.

Reps of both parties can speak briefly during election season. Yesterday the Obama folks showed they are coming hard for Ohio. A Texas Obama volunteer spoke at the 8 a.m. service, and two California Obama volunteers? (at least one woman was from Cali) were at the 10:45 service.

After service, they rolled up on my registration table. I was like, hol up, hol up, ....I got this here

No, for real they inquired about our early voting mobilization efforts and whether they could be of help. They had charts and cross-referenced addresses, etc., everything. They appear to be quite serious about this "community organizing" thing.

just spreading the word...

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER TO VOTE IN GA, FL, IN, MI, OH, PA & VA.

DO NOT GET LAX!!!

THE CAMPAIGN WILL GET MUCH HARDER OVER THE NEXT MONTH!!!

PLEASE FORWARD TO FRIENDS SO THAT EVERYONE REGISTERS!!!

October 6th IS THE DATE!!!

Are you registered? Are your friends and family?

If you only forward one email to your friends, family, and neighbors today -- make it this one.

Each and every vote is absolutely crucial to victory on Election Day. In 2004, John Kerry took the state by a mere 2.5% of voters.

Visit VoteForChange.com, our one-stop voter registration website, and register before the Pennsylvania deadline.

I guess her rep didn't tell her that the association with that org had already come out about back in the spring or so before he even beat Hillary in delegates towards the nomination. In typical fashion, Sarah Palin wasn't paying attention to what was going on in the rest of the country, I guess. We know that she wasn't paying attention to Bush's preemption policy in 2004, and he was the President and a member of her own party.

This just plays up again the fact that she is so out of her league and ill-prepared that it really just boggles the mind.

He truly forgot that he has come out with a book or two himself. And let's not forget Keating Five or Libby.

Sarah Palin is Governor of a State with 600,000 people. My city has 3 million people in it. She is not ready to lead the country.

This race is getting very exciting. The debates last nighgt were great and Obama did well.My only issue with Obama was his lack of defense experience. But Ithink he handled it very well and I think he is ready to be a Commander in Chief. As someone who has fought in Iraq, I agree with him that we need to send more troops to Afghanistan. They are hurting overthere and need some help. Iraq is getting better.

I am just curious but what additional defense or military experience does he need? He serves on the Senate Foreign Relations, Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security Committees (per his Senate page), he has traveled to 17 countries (I recently read somewhere), and his VP/running mate/governing partner is one of the preeminent voices in foreign affairs. The only way he could have more military or defense experience is to have been in the military himself. However, four out of the last 5 presidents (my personal memory only goes back to J Carter) did NOT have military or foreign relations experience.

I know you say that you think he is ready to be CinC but every time someone brings up the experience argument, I would like to know the reasoning behind the statement. Thanks!

Jimmy Carter was in the Navy, Ronald Reagan was in the Air Corps(although he worked in public affairs) , GF Bush was in the Navy, and GW Bush was in the Air National Guard (although he never saw combat)

But you are right. Franklin Roosevelt was never inthe military (he was Sec of thr Navy) and he took us through the biggest war this country has ever seen.

What I meant by my statement is that to me, because I am in the military, I want my Commander in Chief to at least have some idea of what I go through before they make decisions that affect me and my family. I agree that Obama will have advisors and I am sure he will consult his advisors. Something GW Bush didnt do.

06,
I am curious to know how you feel about John McCain's p-sspoor performance at the military academy that he attended and then his poor performance while in the service, replete with accidents galore. Does the fact that McCain was in the military alone make you believe that he can understand or would you require someone with slightly better military-related performance?

Just curious,
SC

ETA: Personally, I think it might be time for another Prez W/OUT military experience. Those presidencies seem to be the only ones when we are not wrapped up in a war (at least recently). Think Desert Storm, Iraq, etc. Maybe a Prez W/OUT military experience would be less inclined to send you into harm's way 06pilot.

Thanks for the info; I did not know about Carter's or Reagan's military service. As far as I am concerned Bush 43 is a draft dodger.

How do you evaluate McCain's stance, not just his words but his record? He has served and so have/are his son's, father and grandfather. Yet he receives a worse rating from vets groups than Obama, he voted against many bills for troop and vet funding AND appeared reckless in launching our curent wars.
