This is not a prayer request, but rather a praise report for all the prayers that were said on my father's behalf. Though I didn't post it on here originally, I did ask many of my groups of acquaintances and friends for prayers on behalf of my father who was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma early last December. As of yesterday, we found out he was completely cancer free after only 6 chemo treatments! Now if only he could kick the pneumonia he caught after his last chemo session and get out of the hospital!

adpi*violet - glad to hear the good news!

I could use some good thoughts today - got the latest test results for a test I need to have a certain score in order to apply to become nationally certified in my field. I missed the minimum score on the first test by 50 points, and this time, I missed the minimum by 10. Right now, I'm struggling with thinking about whether or not to even attempt to become nationally certified, since I just can't seem to pass what I've learned into the testing situation.

Instead of asking for prayer, I wanted to praise the Lord for second chances! I had a MAJOR reconciliation tonight, with someone who once had been very, very dear to me. I just pray that it will continue.

I believe May 1st is National Day of Prayer, for those who indulge. I know that I'm going to be busily praising Him for my second chance - and for my mother, just because.

Blessings on y'all!!

It was supposed to be a replacement of something she already had, and last time, it was done by 1. Around 5:30, she came out. They had to fix both holes in her heart, and a few other things, in order for her to make it out of the surgery. She's in the heart room at the hospital right now, possibly still under sedation (I'm going to call her mom today). She has medication to take for the next few months, and will probably require a valve replacement at some point. Either way, she's ok, and that's amazing. Thanks for your prayers.

So glad its going well for you! Best wishes to you and your family!

I could really use some prayers right now during finals week.

Heck, let me expand on that. How about prayers for all the Deltas (or Pi's in grad school) in the middle of finals right now?

Please keep a friend of mine from college in your prayers. Her boyfriend was found this morning by his roommates unconscious and by the time the medics arrived it was too late. This all comes as quite the shock because he was in good health and there seemed to be nothing wrong with him. My friend and her bf had started to become quite serious and she had finally been able to find a good guy.

Can we pray for the families of the 1 Tucson Police Department officer and the 2 Pima County Sheriff Deputies involved in a shooting today.

A Tucson police officer is on life support and not expected to live after a man allegedly shot him once in the head.
Tucson Police Chief Richard Miranda said TPD officer Erik Hite, 43, was "ambushed" Sunday after a cross-city pursuit.
David Nickolas Delich, 26, was arrested at Molino Basin after police and deputies chased him sporadically from the Northwest Side of town to Catalina Highway on the Northeast Side.
"It's with a heavy heart we're here today after an officer gave the ultimate sacrifice," Miranda said at an afternoon press conference.
"I'm definitely feeling responsible," Miranda said. "Officers go out every single day and put their lives on the line and I'm in charge.
"For me there's a sense of responsibility, a sense of sadness," he said. "I feel absolutely terrible."
Tucson Mayor Bob Walkup expressed his condolences to Hite's wife, children and parents.
"I'm proud of the Tucson Police Department and the sheriff's department for getting a really bad person off the street," Walkup said.
Hite, a four-year veteran of the Tucson police, joined after serving in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years. He is also a member of Shadowriders.org, an online motorcycle enthusiast group.
His wife, Nohemy Hite, Samantha, who will be 1-year-old on Saturday were with Hite at a local hospital, Miranda said. Hite's son, Roy David Hite, is serving in the military in San Antonio, Texas, and his parents, Patsy and Roy Hite, are on their way to Tucson, Miranda said.
The rolling gun battle also wounded two deputies.
The incident began around 9:49 a.m. as a man, later identified as Delich, alleged fired at two homes with an assault rifle in the 8400 block of North Placita de la Manzana, said Sheriff's Department Bureau Chief Rick Kastigar. There were no injuries.
After residents called 911, a deputy encountered Delich's car at North Oracle Road at West Ina Road, Kastigar said.
Delich allegedly shot the deputy in his arm, but the injured deputy chased Delich southward toward River Road, when the deputy lost contact, Kastigar said.
At 11 a.m., there were four sheriff's cars - one with what appeared to be a gunshot through the windshield - and one Tucson police car at the Jack-in-the-Box at River and Oracle, according to a Tucson Citizen photographer at the scene.
Other deputies caught sight of Delich's car near North Swan Road and East River Road, Kastigar said.
The chase continued to Tanque Verde Road, where Delich allegedly exchanged gunfire on the Tanque Verde Bridge, with no injuries reported.
Law enforcement officers set up stop sticks, intended to disable Delich's car, on Tanque Verde Road, but he turned left on a side street near Tomahawk Trail.
"Officer Hite was ambushed," Miranda said. "There was thought behind what the suspect did."
Miranda wouldn't elaborate, citing the ongoing investigation.
Hite, who was shot around 10:27 a.m., was taken by helicopter to a hospital, according to a Citizen photographer at that scene.
Delich was able to evade law enforcement officers until he reached Catalina Highway on the base of Mount Lemmon, Kastigar said.
Delich allegedly shot a sheriff's deputy around milepost 1.5. The officer's head was grazed, Kastigar said.
The chase continued for a couple of miles up Catalina Highway until Delich surrendered at Molina Basin, Kastigar said.
Law enforcement officials have declined so far to say what Delich, a Sabino High School graduate, has been charged with.
Miranda wouldn't comment on the type of weapon involved, but said officers found weapons in Delich's car.
Tucson police Capt. Clayton Kidd said it's not known how many officers were involved in the incident or if any of them returned fire.
Molina said Delich allegedly shot both from his car and from outside his car, but wouldn't elaborate.

I don't know the shooter but he is a grade younger than me. I live about 2 miles from where he was arrested. If I would've followed my routine I would've been involved in this ordeal and so would've my family. I guess it was a good day to miss church.

ADPISAI, I'm glad that your friend is doing amazing things to help his mother. If he gets to the point where his resources start to dry up, tell him to try the Social Services department of the hospital she usually goes to. They often have resources others don't think of.

HBADPi, how is your friend doing? It's so hard to lose someone close. I hope she's doing a little bit better.

EXiADPi, I'm sorry to hear about what happened. Isn't it great to know that you avoided the situation? I can't help but feel for the shooter - the last person in the world you want to kill is a policeman or other official.

What a world we live in.

Please keep DH and his family in your prayers. The end is very near for my FIL. His mobility & energy are decreasing. His pain is increasing and so is the amount of drama in that sick, co-dependent family.

I could go on a days-long rant about the drama! Maybe that will be the next prayer request...

It's hard to believe that another month has passed.... FIL is still slipping away slowly. It has been incredibly hard on DH and, without going into the personal details, our marriage is suffering.

My FIL has just passed away. Right now, it feels like the calm eye of a hurricane.... OH please let this be the calm after the storm, instead!

F&F, I'll be thinking about you and your family during this time of loss - I'm hoping that it's the calm after the storm for you, as well.
