Per Tufts Student Life page, sorority recruitment will be moved to the fall semester, and sophomore standing or higher is required for participating in recruitment.

Bucknell University(PA) requires students to be at sophomore standing to go through recruitment. They began this requirement in 1992. I’ve heard/read that over 50% (or better) of the students join Greek Life.

Princeton and Colgate (NY) both require sophomore standing to go through recruitment. Princeton is pretty harsh: first-year students who are even found to be attending Greek parties are at risk of university discipline.
