My little dog is having surgery today. His groomer found a mass under his collar last week, and it appeared only a month ago, yet is quite large. It will be removed, and he'll also have an ultrasound to see how his bladder is doing. It's a worry every time a little dog is under anesthesia, so I beg you all for prayers that he'll be fine, and nothing bad will be found. I honestly don't know if I could handle losing him so soon after losing my mother.

To keep it interesting, we're supposed to have a terrible winter storm today. I need to be able to pick up my baby!!

An ADPi from APSU in TN passed away on February 2. She would have been only 32 on the 15th of this month, and left behind 3 daughters.
From a mutual friend's facebook, "Shawnna had breast cancer and then it went to her bones and liver. From what I understand the cancer was gone right before Christmas but she went to ICU Saturday with liver failure."

Thank you so very much for letting us know about our sister, WinniBug. Cancer can be so cruel, especially in cases such as Shawnna.

31 sounds so young. My heart goes out to her children and all other family members who survive her.

Bri - I'm sending you lots of hugs over the miles...if you're up to it this weekend, how about a phone chat?

So sad to hear of our sister's passing...I'm keeping her family & her chapter sisters in my thoughts and prayers.

I need you guys right now - my grandmother just passed away this evening. She'd been in the hospital since last Thursday (2/25) due to passing out & difficulty breathing. Doctors weren't sure what was going on, but did find one side of her heart larger than the other. My mom reported today that she seemed to be in much better spirits, and was doing well (though no further "news" on what was wrong). I called my mom about 9:30 tonight to check in with her on my way home from an ADPi Alumnae Assoc. meeting, and found out she was on her way to the hospital, my grandfather called her to let her know that Grams's eyes had gone glassy; by the time I talked to her 30 minutes later, she was gone. Mom told me she had a massive heart attack, so right now I'm completely at a loss, trying to be "the rock" for my mom from 2000 miles away. I'm definitely going to need my sisters' support these next few hours, days, weeks - I don't know how to process this right now.

(((((((((polarpi)))))))))
One of the sisters in my chapter had something so similar happen only a couple of weeks ago.
All of my love, support, and prayers are with you. I know how tough it is to lose someone you love, and try to be strong for others at the same time.

You & your family are most definitely in my prayers. Please be good to yourself in the coming weeks, and if you want to mourn, by all means, do it. And if you need to talk, I'm a phone call away. God bless you real good!

Gosh, it seems like this is the year for things to just hit - without going into a lot of detail, please keep my mom in your thoughts and prayers. There's a big situation going on (I don't fully understand all that's going on, but it's not good), and again, I'm 2000 miles away trying to support her from here. We could use all the positive thoughts that this situation will work out and be resolved in the next few weeks that we can get.

Thanks, sisters!

^^I don't know how I missed that, but my prayers are with you - and your mother.

My dog & I were at the vet last night, and the final verdict is kennel cough. Even though he's current with his shots, stress can still cause an occurance of it. He's dry hacking a LOT, and just looks at me with those big brown eyes like, "Help me?" He's on antibiotics, and will probably will be contagious only another day, but sick for another week & a half.

To compound this, my brother & I have had several skirmishes since my mother died, but Friday was huge. Of all stupid things, he's accusing me of taking World Book Encyclopedias! I can't see how we can work this way. And I know that's part of my dog's stress.

You really don't want to hear how I really feel, but these situations definitely need prayer!

Please keep up the prayers for Buffy - he's on Round Two of the antibiotics!

My best friend & prayer partner is in court to get custody of her grandson. I don't want to go into her private business, but the grandson's parents are seriously, seriously, unfit. Her next date is tomorrow (Tuesday). Please keep CAS in your prayers for favor!

Sisters, one of my chapter sisters is having a fairly major surgery today. Please keep her in your prayers to come through surgery safely and help her as she faces a long, difficult recovery. She is a shining example of what it means to be an ADPi and she could really use our support!

Hey everyone. As many of you know my grandfather recently passed. Well when I got to my parents yesterday my mom told me something shes been keeping from me because she didn't want my freaking out during finals.
My stepdad was diagnosed with cancer last month. He has surgery on January 18th and hopefully they'll be able to get it all and hopefully it hasn't spread. Its been a tough couple months for my family so please keep them in your prayers.

After over a month of a toothache, I finally had my dentist appointment today. Two of my molars are broken beneath the gum line, have abcesses and have gone septic! The dentist said that it was the result of bad posts being put in years ago. Anyhow, I'm taking major antibiotics, and having oral surgery in the morning.

The weird part is that I have been feeling nasty for ages, and the dentist thinks this may be part of it - that's why the surgery was scheduled so fast. I could use some prayers!
