This (oversized t-shirt -- almost comically oversized) and nike shorts is the unofficial uniform of Ole Miss women. It's not a disconnect at all to go from this to sundresses at football games. Why? Because it's just how we roll.
There are known knowns.
There are known unknowns.

The "uniform" and sundresses at football games are "known knowns". They just are. Even if one would arrive off a truck and not know the above, one learns very quickly (my 18 year old self included).

Many who enroll at this fine university, due so solely for this reason. Are these students easy to pick out? Usually. Do they make it through to sophomore year? Rarely.
If a PNM is offered alcohol at one of these parties, yes, I'd say it is a test. Not a test of chasteness/purity but likely a test of how one can handle oneself w/or w/o alcohol in social situations. Please stop nervous nelling that "OMG GIRLS ARE DRINKING BEFORE THEY ENROLL AND OMG THEY ARE DOOOOOOOMED". If y'all think a PNMs sorority bid fate rests solely on this criteria, you are naive.

As was mentioned frequently upthread, Josh Fraternityguy hanging out too much with our rushee can create far more of an issue come invite time than her hanging out too much with Johnnie Walker. It's not just the drinking people are concerned about, it's the volatility of everything in a social situation in general.

ha ha ha... okay first of all 33girl- LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! your line about Josh Fraternity being more trouble than Johnnie Walker-- so true, so true!!! ANYWAY....
A little off topic here- but I have a question that maybe someone can answer.... I have a very good friend whose nephew is going through fraternity rush (sorry recruitment- old habits die hard :-) ) right now at Ole Miss. He is having a GREAT TIME! YAY! She emailed me this morning and said that they were "on a break" now until next week and she asked me why!? I don't have a clue! I told her that I didn't know much (if anything) about fraternity recruitment that when I was there fraternities and sororities all had recruitment at the same time which was before school started..... Best I could come up with was that maybe the fraternities now broke it up so there would be just one bid day for both.... but it is just a guess... now I am curious as to the real reason if anyone happens to know!!!!

I know this is all about recruitment, but I just have to say if you haven't yet seen ESPN's The Book of Manning do yourself a favor and make sure you do. Whether you're an Ole Miss fan or not, you'll definitely find this show inspiring to say the least.
It's a wonderful story about fathers and sons (kids in general), football, college, and it will cause you to reach for the kleenex multiple times.
As a long-suffering life-long Saints fan and a fairly new Ole Miss fan, my heart swelled with pride. I've met Archie on several occasions several years ago while in the corporate world. He is genuinely a nice guy and very humble and it comes across in this documentary.
Do a search for SEC Storied: The Book of Manning and DVR it, then watch it with your family. Hubby and I cried several times and we just watched it with the dog! When both kids come home for Thanksgiving, we'll sit down and watch it again with them.
I just can't recommend it enough....#WHODAT #HOTTYTODDY!

Mine too. Peyton is still a beloved figure here in Indy. His return to the city next month is going to be very emotional for a lot of people!

Here's a link to the rush week schedule for girls with times each day - forgive me if this has been posted - with 40 pages of posts, I may have missed it:
corrected, thanks to Thetalady:
http://dos.orgsync.com/org/umgreeks/npcrecdates
And for OldOleMiss - here's the link to the IFC schedule:
http://dos.orgsync.com/org/umgreeks/ifcschedule
There's a link in the middle that has the rules for their Open Recruitment. That's new this year. My boys followed the same basic schedules as the girls did when they went through. For what it's worth, what I've heard is that a decision was made to have boys to do their rush events mainly on weekend nights. So, they moved the first 2 rounds up to last weekend. Then they have their last 3 rounds Th, Fr, Sat while the girls have Skit & Pref.

In addition to the schedule in the beginning of this thread and on the Greek webpage linked above, the Ole Miss Panhellenic page on Facebook has been updated regularly the last few days with details on next week's events along with pictures of appropriate dress.
