*Bump*
Don't throw shoes at me, but I wanted to get my mom a Snuggie for Christmas, but ran out of time. She is ALWAYS jacking up the heat and snuggled under a housecoat because she's so cold. So I'll wait and get her one for her birthday with the understand that if she EVER wears it outside of our home, I'm taking it back!

I saw this online for the first time a few days ago....I seriously thought it was a joke....who would want one??? Does it get that cold up North that you Northerners resort to ugly blanket things???

So I finally thought of a practical use for the Snuggie. It would be useful to put on while I am cleaning my car off when it is snow covered and icy. It would protect my clothes when I'm reaching over to the middle.
Other than that, creepy.

I'm liking this idea more and more every time I have to clean the snow off my car. It could be an apron for cleaning off the car. All that salt on the coat all the time..sheesh!

Now I think that is a good idea!!
My husband, kids, and I make fun of this commercial each time it comes on. My husband and I joke how lame those people look in the sporting event clip.

I am trying to figure out if what my mom got everyone classifies as a snuggie. It is a blanket and zips up the middle half way and then you snap the top two corners down for sleeves.
Snuggie or No?

I think concept matters more than brand, so while it may not be a "Snuggie", it's still weird.

OMG. For the first time I saw the Snuggie on TV yesterday. We were cracking up because both of my nieces wanted one. They both are "blanket people". Everytime you see them, they are wrapped up in a blanket.

I wish I had one when I had to put the cables on my car yesterday because of some idiot parking me into a snow bank. I'd have put it on, done my under the car yoga, took it off, washd it, then put it back in the car.
I bet the gray/blue wouldn't show much dirt and the fleece would stay dry.

LOL at VandalSquirrel. You keep rationalizing it...I think you want one for reals!
I was watching the History channel and the Snuggie commercial kept coming on. Part of me wanted to say, "That does seem like a clever idea" and another part of me wanted to say, "But, wow, that looks creepy".

is it really a bad thing? For one who can't get warm enough during the winter months and don't like blankets slipping off of me when i reach for that remote or glass of wine while STATIONED on the couch, it really isn't all that bad. However, color or print selction could be a tad bit better. I mean I am not going to go out in public with it on and look like a cross between jedi master and or a monk, I am wearing it sitting on the fricken couch and comes off when I get up and or go to bed. It serves it purpose while sitting there keeping warm watching tv and being a couch potato for a few hours a night.

I would almost agree with you, but again.. why not just put on more clothing? Like a sweatshirt? Or a bathrobe?? Or cut out holes in an already existing blanket for easy access to the remote/a book/food/your dignity?
Personally, I think the commercial hurts the product more than anything. The first time I saw it, I couldn't help from bursting out laughing. The old guy looks like a monk, and the one-size-fits-all concept is completely discredited when you see the kids practically drowning in them at the ball game.
Oh, and the name.. yea, don't even get me started.
