Not final games- but three semi-finals today that were awesome. Argentina takes Brazil by 3-0 in men's soccer in a very passionate and savage game- very unlike the almost poetic and nimble win Argentina took over Australia, but all the more exciting to watch. Nigeria took Belgium 4-1. The final Friday night should be spectacular.
And good show to the US women's beach volleyball and water polo teams for winning very difficult semi-finals to get a shot at gold.
In a general sense, the US women have really brought it at these games. When all is said and done, I think that will be the great story for 2008.

I just recently did a Recruitment Workshop for my ladies...
I hadn't watched any of the olympics yet and they were watching. Now I've been obsessing about it now for the last week... I'm so afraid to miss something...
I was excited to see Shawn Johnson get a gold medal for the last womens event....and I do think Nastia was robbed from the number problem...
Go USA

Jonathan Horton goes for it and wins Silver on high bar. I don't know how I remained unspoiled for that, but it was a thrill.

Bolt takes the Gold and a World Record 19.30 seconds for Jamaica in the 200 meter dash!
Much controversy over the Silver and Bronze since it appears both of those medal winners broke out of their lanes. As of now the Bronze winner has been D-Qed- and he has protested. No word on the status of the Silver Medal winner.

OH- and Melaine Walker takes the Gold for Jamaica in the 400 meter women's hurdle! New Olympic record and a magnificent win well ahead of the Silver Medalist. Very cool race to watch!

And the word is in- the Silver Medalist in the 200m dash was also D-Qed leaving Shawn Crawford and Walter Dix of the US in Silver and Bronze, respectively.

Decathlon's already started with the 100m and my hometown favorite Bryan Clay is in the lead. Long Jump (Event #2) is tonight.
ETA:
After coming in 1st in the Long Jump, Bryan leads with 1,994 points ahead of fellow American Trey Hardee. Tom Pappas was forced to withdraw.
Check out that rain!

He did it!
Bryan Clay, Decathlon Gold Medalist
Totally came in last in the 1500m, but he did so well in the other events that he established a comfortable lead leading up to the last two events. This is the first time an American won the Decathlon since 1996.
Finally, a Gold to add to his 2004 Silver! Baba and Jiji must be so proud!

Good show Bryan Clay!
Jamaica takes the 4x100 meter relay Gold with a World Record!
Argentina vs. Nigeria soccer match for the Gold starts in an hour. I stayed in tonight just to watch and I am pulling big for Argentina- with apologies to my many friends from Nigeria.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLL LLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
Argentina scores on Nigeria in the 58th minute with a brilliant goal eased in over the goalkeeper's head. This has been a hell of a game! I really hope Argentina can pull it out.

FINALLY Argentina takes the Gold in Men's Soccer 1-0 after a generous 5:00 added on to the play time plus an inexplicable extra 1:00 at the end of the 5:00 addition.
YEAH BOY!
