ahh!!!! HERE WE GO AGAIN ...

This is just like deja-vu!!! I know that I've been back here a few times (give or take) to check for updates!

I hope that GG is out with her new Phi Mu (or ADPi) sisters & enjoying her new sisterhood. Regardless, she had an awesome attitude & will be a great addition to any chapter ... go girl )

GOOD LUCK & I CANNOT WAIT TO HEAR ABOUT BID DAY!!!!!!!

Greek Girl, I hope you got Phi Mu! I'm actually living on the Phi Mu floor in my dorm right now... there are a lot of freshmen who are on this floor too, but all the actual Phi Mu's I've met seem so sweet. You're in my prayers!!!!!

I told her that I wasn't confused anymore and that it wasn't as hard of a decision and I started to cry and so did she.
I know I'm bumping up an old thread, but reading this bugged me. At my school, saying stuff like that is considered "dirty rushing" and can get you a rush infraction. We're not even allowed to say things like "see you tomorrow!" after the first day, when pretty much everyone is invited back (except for grade cuts).

I think it's even worse if a sorority says they want you at prefs, and then you don't get a bid. I know there's a group on my campus that tells girls at prefs that they will get bids to get everyone to put them first, and then a lot of girls dont get bids from them. I guess this is what happened with Greek_Girl..?

What is the policy at your school?

Depends on campus culture, on this one. At my alma mater, you could say whatever you want, as long as you speak for yourself, not your chapter. You can speak for your chapter as long as you don't make any references to future parties/bids.

Ex. "I want you to be my pledge kid"--OKAY

Ex. "Everyone is really happy you are here tonight"--OKAY

Ex. "Everyone is really hoping to see you tomorrow"--BAD

I don't think any of those things would be bad for us DeltaBaby. We are obviously discouraged from saying "You're getting a bid from us." Or my favorite, "Don't sign your bid card, and then COB us, because you're getting a bid." But to say, I hope we see you tomorrow doesn't mean you want them in your chapter. You could mean you just hope they get a bid See how we can play on words!!

Whether or not that was dirty rushing depends on the campus and the local Panhellenic. Under the rules when I rushed, that was more than kosher. At the same school, the sorority who said or asked the same things I was asked would be fined to kingdom come.

I think it's best to let a four year old rush situation drop.

She joined in 2001 -- that makes her a senior by now, or perhaps already an alum! LOL
