$4.22 at my "usual" place. Public transportation doesn't reach my area of town.

I paid over 43 dollars for 3/4 of a tank last night. Unfortunately, I travel from the city to the suburbs for work - not the other way around. And there is no stop anywhere close to my job. Otherwise I wouldn't mind driving a mile to the train station and jumping on the railroad! It doesn't pay for me.

I pay $3.99 for regular and there are several gas stations in my area well over $4/gallon.

Ah, love the BURBs and Driving big gas guzzlers
Hey, I live in the burbs and drive 4.5 miles a day both ways. How about you?
I have trees, and some land! But, guess what, it cost gas to cut the grass. If you do not help then do not complain, YOU are taking gas from us, others and not helping keeping the prices down!
Keep driving along!

Da Maroon.! Don't drive so far, got a better car that uses less gas.
I drive a car that is gas efficient, do you? How far from your job do you live and drive?
Dah, do that explain my last post?

I drive an 5.4 V8 F-150, during the summer I live about a 40 minute drive from where I work. On top of that I also have upkeep to do around the enormously huge amount of property I live on, hence why I needed off-road diesel. I needed the tow package on the truck for those purposes, but it'd be much more expensive than my difference in gas to buy a completely new vehicle.

Yep. Paid $4.09 the other day. And we'll be getting the summer blend here in Chicago next week so it will be going up even more - some of the stations in my town raised prices to $4.19 for regular.
Diesel is around $4.99 - some places it is well over $5!

I read today that, since some of the older gas pumps can't be set to register above $3.999/gal, some gas stations are being allowed to program their pumps with the price of a half gallon of gas. So the gas pump registers, say, $2.10 per "gallon", and then the price is doubled when you go to pay.
I'm paying around $4.599/gal for premium. Diesel, meanwhile, is going for over $5/gal.

It cost me almost $40 to put HALF A TANK in my car today. And I feel entitled to whine because my car gets 30 city/35 highway. At least the car is paid for!

In my travels today, I saw a gas station selling regular for $4.199/gal and premium for $4.359/gal. That's cheap around here. I also saw a gas station a few miles away, getting $4.459/gal for regular. Guess which one had a line and which one was deserted.

I started to cry yesterday.
The gas station that was $3.99 is now $4.21!
As I posted above, they now have meters set to sell at 1/2 gallons untill they get new meters.

Check out the Chevy Volt that GM will begin producing in 2010. Cool looking car, all electric.
