Some advice:

1. you shouldn't believe everything you hear.

2. Never ever put down another organization or spread rumors.
I had to look it up too and I second your .

#1 was exactly what I was thinking.

Lets try to get things back on track here. Another place that might be good to hold it would be the women's center if your school has one. Thats where one of the sororities on my school has all their meetings and rituals. And I can think of a couple of orgs that have their pinning ritual open besides just DU.

Okay, so... Kappa Kappa Shocker... pretty sure that can't possibly be a real sorority, for the simple fact that the sorority you are referring to as "not very nice" and some ridiculious crap made up about a "shocker?" is MY sorority.. how dare you insult our name, myself and my sisters.
we approached you to join...and you declined. Therefore it had nothing to do with you getting a shocker... grow up. seriously... We have helped you as much as we can, and we welcomed you to the campus when you decided to form your own sorority, and this is how to repay us Samantha? Oh and when we confronted you, don't tell me this person isn't really you.. their a "fake" ...because thats what you tried to say right? I know this is you because things you have said relate strictly to you... and when the first post was posted before anyone else knew about your new sorority.. so nice try... next time don't make stuff up please because I take offence and so does the rest of our sorority.

Thanks for the heads up on what type of person/ sorority you will be running...

Cheers!

I generally shy away from the "I just started a new sorority" threads...this one is a new fave!

Thumbs down Too funny.

Any guesses as to who wrote this and where?

Quote:
I am getting alot of negativity from another sorority in my area. I have been trying VERY hard to build a bond yet it seems to be getting worse. I have now been called a "dumb broad" on another forum.

Background Information:

I met a girl online on a general chat room and we began talking about canadian sororitys. We started e-mailing back and forth about canadian sororitys (this is back in like April I believe). I asked if she knew about any sororitys in my area that I could look into joining. She said she found only one nammed "***** ***** shocka". But she told me I should stay away from them because she was told she would have to get a shocker in order to be initiated. You can imagine my reaction "ewwww". Later I joined a forum (will not name) where I introduced myself and my exctement for starting my own sorority. I said one scentence about wanting to start my own because there was no sororitys and the one I knew about you had to get a shocker. They pounced on me like hungry wolves. It was horrible.

Time goes by and I found my sorority. I e-mailed the "girl" back and turns out she has no soul! This girl turned out to know absolutly nothing about the sorority or even live in my area for that mater everything is going fine and I'm learning to ignore the horrible comments. untill last week I got an e-mail from another sorority claiming that I had "slanderd" their sorority. I appaulijized and explained the situation. Unfortunatly I got an e-mail from a friend saying I should go back to that first forum and see what had just been posted. "Dumb broad" they called me. They seemed extremely upset over my comment. I had already e-mailed this other sorority trying to explain what had happened.

I'm at a lost for words. I very angry that the president of that sorority would allow for something to be posted taking a direct jab at me. I don't know what to do. I don't want the Greek Life on campus to turn negative. I just wanted to build a positive sisterhood just like everyone else!

I'm doing my best to not allow this to effect my sorority but it's effecting my relationships and daily life. Please ANY advice would be welcomed.
