I would hesitate to place the NMGC at the level of NPHC/NPC/IFC/NALFO not only because the council is still growing but also because it isn't the same type of organization. Where the other councils/conferences meet in great part to develop agreements among the member organizations for the betterment (and protection) of the whole, the NMGC appears to act more like a chamber of commerce, bringing together organizations to share information with a future goal to work together to promote awareness of multiculturalism. But, the definition of multiculturalism seems to be rather fluid as the NMGC represents both
cultural-based (Latina for example) and multicultural-based orgs. I would be interested to see an umbrella org for "historically multicultural" orgs.
