The award for the top interview get in 2007 has to go to whoever’s the first to sit down with Whitney Houston. Whitney is back! She shocked everyone at a recent benefit in California. She looked stunning with her diamonds and black Armani dress. There was no sign of the hellish battle she fought with drugs. Whitney’s mentor Clive Davis is planning the biggest comeback of his career. He is planning to release a new album with Whitney next year, and he’ll prove to the world that despite her troubles, she is the greatest singer of our generation. Everyone wants to be the first to sit down with Whitney and get her to open up about her life with Bobby Brown, drug addictions and recovery. Barbara Walters, Katie Couric, Geraldo Rivera, Matt Lauer, Diane Sawyer and Oprah Winfrey are all pitching ideas to Clive. I bet Oprah is going to get it first, and the others will do follow-up pieces. The greatest story of all will be Whitney’s story of falling down, falling to pieces and getting back on her feet. She will be such an inspiration to others who are also battling addictions.

Rapper Flavor Flav has quite a dilemma. There are too many women and a baby on the way. In The Flavor of Love Season Two finale, he declared his love for Deelishis. But, Flav failed to mention that he is involved with a white woman in Las Vegas and she is expecting his 7th child. The baby is due in January. How is Flav going to carry on a relationship with Deelishis and his new baby momma at the same time? Sources say Deelishis isn’t sweating it because she got her money from the VH1 show, and she has turned her attention to Clinton Portis. He’s a running back with the Washington Redskins.

Gossip Guru Jawn Murray hinted at it a few weeks ago, and now it’s confirmed. Singer Johnny Gill is a first time dad at the age of 40. In what is being called a pleasant surprise, Johnny recently found out he has a five-month old son with a Washington, D.C. woman. Gill has been dogged by rumors concerning his sexuality, but he told me last year that the stories about him were all lies. Johnny is looking forward to this new chapter in his life.

Meanwhile, his best friend Eddie Murphy may be gearing up for his seventh child with Former Spice Girl “Mel B.” Mel and Eddie have been dating for most of the year. Eddie recently caused a stir when he was spotted out with Tracey Edmonds, the former Mrs. Babyface. Next year is going to be huge one for Eddie. There’s Oscar buzz concerning his performance in the Dreamgirls movie (he plays “James Thunder Early”), and he has a new comedy on tap (a movie called Norbitt).

Richard Pryor’s children are fighting with his widow Jennifer Lee. Pryor died in 2005, and his six children claim Jennifer forged his will and testament. In the new will, they were left out. They want to know what happened to the old will. The kids have filed a lawsuit against Jennifer Lee, claiming they want what is rightfully theirs.

She’s dated moguls, millionaires, directors and basketball players. She hasn’t found love. Maybe she’ll have luck with the rappers. Talk Show Host Tyra Banks is reportedly seeing Rapper Chingy. Tyra has turned her attention to rappers, and she will be featuring a lot of them on her show during the next few weeks.

Shonda Rhimes, the creator and force behind the ABC show Grey’s Anatomy, says Black men are not interchangeable. She says that Isaiah Washington will not be replaced on the hit show, despite a violent incident that shook up cast members. She says Washington has since apologized for the choking incident of a co-star and gay slur of another castmate. He said in a statement that he regrets his actions and words, and he has apologized to everyone involved. Despite his apology, some cast members still feel uneasy about him and feel he should have been fired. Rhimes says the incident is over and the cast has moved on. She says everything is fine with her show.

Can Oprah Winfrey help Supermodel Naomi Campbell? Campbell was arrested last week for attacking her drug counselor. She scratched up the woman’s face, and now she may not be allowed to work in the United States. Campbell is currently fighting three legal battles with former employees who claim she assaulted them. Campbell needs help. She is planning to do a sit down on The Oprah Winfrey Show to discuss her anger management issues.

Maxwell is returning after a five year absence. Maxwell’s latest release, Black Summer Nights, arrives in stores on February 13th.

Rapper Bow Wow is having second thoughts about ditching his former love, Singer Ciara. Bow Wow got too big for his britches, and dumped the beautiful singer because he didn’t want to be tied down. Well, Ciara has moved on, and she is now dating Actor Michael Ealy. Ealy used to date Halle Berry. Ciara just turned 21. Now that she is dating an older man, Ealy is 33, she has no intention of going back to the youngins.

Nicole Richie needs help. Last week, she entered a treatment facility to deal with her problem in gaining weight. After staying two days, she left and resumed her partying ways. Well, Nicole reportedly passed out in the club. She has a history of drug abuse. A lot of today’s young starlets are messing around with cocaine, meth and heroin, just to name a few. I know her dad Lionel Richie is on tour, but he may have to stop the tour and get his daughter the help she needs.

Michael Jackson is going to be honored at The World Music Awards on November 15th. He is getting The Diamond Award for his contribution to music. Mary J. Blige is also being honored with the Legends’ Award. The ceremony will take place in London. Michael is currently living in Ireland with the nanny of his kids. Word has it they are getting married next year.

Former America’s Next Top Model Contestant Toccara may lose a major job with a retail chain if her nude photos come into play. Toccara has shown off her voluptuous body in layouts in King Magazine but she hid the fact that back in the day she posed for nude photos. Now the photos are coming back to haunt her.

Saturday, November 11th, it’s an Evening with Brian McKnight and Michael Baisden. The seminar/mini-concert and mix & mingle is happening at the First District Plaza, 38th and Market, from 7pm until. Tickets are only $20, and you can get them at Ticketmaster. Brian has a new album called 10 coming out on December 5th. Brian is excited about the projects. He says it feels good to be at a record company (Warner Bros.) that appreciates him.

Kirk Franklin is starting up his own film and television production company. For Yo Soul Productions will deal with projects that have inspirational themes.

Jamie Foxx’s stylist is letting out his hair secret. Jamie uses a spray on his hair that looks like it’s painted. He also uses a stencil to keep the hairline right. His stylist missed the mark a couple of times causing people to wonder why Jamie’s head was out of place.

Ebony Magazine is coming out with a line of greeting cards. The line, called Ebony Inspirations, will be sold at Walmart stores starting in February.

The Essence Music Festival is returning to New Orleans. The 13th annual festival, entitled ‘Coming Home,’ will take place at the Superdome in New Orleans, July 5th –July 7th.

Prince is getting set to debut his new Las Vegas gig. Prince will perform nightly, and showcase artists that are on his record label.

Blair Underwood is joining the cast of the new HBO show In Treatment. The show will also star Actor Gabriel Byrne.

Dick Clark is returning to his Rockin’ New Year’s Eve special. He will be ringing in the new year with American Idol’s Ryan Seacrest. Clark suffered a devastating stroke two years ago, but he is determined to do his signature show and be there to count down the ball dropping from Times Square.

Tyler Perry’s popular stage production, What’s Done in the Dark, is coming back to Philly, November 21st through November 26th at the Merriam Theatre. The show stars Allen Payne, David & Tamala Mann and singer D’Atra Hicks.
