I'm glad that all the houses at Bama are making a good impression on the pnm's. That way, when the inevitable cuts come, the girls hopefully will still have some houses left that they really liked. If they had only liked one or two, and got cut from them, it would be harder to want to continue the recruitment process. I am praying that this means a better chance for our girls to get through rush and be excited about their bids!

I'm glad that your daughter enjoyed so many of the groups. That's how I felt in rush too...and there were only four groups!!! I can't imagine having so many.
(Go Steelers...I just can't help myself!)

I think this is what you were meaning but Namath was a Jet, not a Giant (Green and White uniform).

Does anyone happen to know when they receive the first invitations back? I will keep you posted on the 5 hometown girls and how they are doing. Good luck everyone!

southernyankee,
Please tell your daughter best of luck with the rest of recruitment! I graduated from Bama in 2005. I'm actually right in the middle of moving from Florida to Birmingham, (though I'm from Marietta, Ga.) and I will make it to Gamma Phi Beta's Pref Night this Saturday to help serve drinks and whatnot. I was in charge of our Pref Night two years ago during my vice presidency, and I have to say it is my favorite round of Rush!
This brings back memories of going through Rush and living in Tutwiler! Of course back in 2001, Tutwiler's rooms hadn't been renovated yet!
So anyway, I'll leave it at that for now ... best of luck! And ROLL TIDE!

Okay - when were Tutwiler's dorms renovated? I was a freshman in '95...
I'm so excited to hear about everyone's positive experience at 'Bama!
Good Luck to everyone! I can't wait to see how everything turns out!

For those of you who like numbers, check the Bama website for the official Fall Recruitment statistics for Bama since 1998:

And finally, not to bore you much more, are the 2006 GPA statistics for the Bama sororities, also taken from Bama's official website. Interesting?

Bama Dad - The only thing I would recommend to you as to "what not to say here and now" (taken from your question on the carnation thread) is
Specifics - i.e. "my daughter said she didn't like the xyz house (but putting the specific sorority down) or my daughter wants to be an abc (but putting the specific sorority down) - before recruitment is over
Now afterwords - We would love to hear that she enjoyed what ever house she enjoyed but even then it would not be nice to say what house she heard bad things about or what ever. And we would love to hear that she is got a bid from her 1st or 2nd choice etc.
Just my little opinion

ADPI Conniebama, thanks for the sound advice. Actually, my daughter has no stand-out favorites after two days. There is a cluster of about eight or nine houses she really loves with just a hair difference between them. I think its great because she leaves herself so many options. She heard one negative story about a particular house, totally ignored it and, in fact, ranks the house very high in her top eight. The girls were awesome so that was that!
