I liked them too. And Joey Lawrence had me watching every week, all muscular and stuff. I can't believe how little Joey has grown up.
Bring back Half & Half!!!!

I loved Half&Half. Especially since Mona finally got a man! And she had 2 at that!! That Chocolate Stallion that she was with! He is the ideal man for me! But for some odd reason I think if the show would continue, lil dee-dee and joey lawrence would probably end up together because they don't like each other!

interesting piece on the dearth of AfAm drama on television
If you believe Ali LeRoi, an executive producer and writer on The CW’s “Everybody Hates Chris,” it’s a complete waste of time to discuss the state of TV through the lens of a particular culture, because green is the only color that matters in Hollywood....
“Nobody has the right to be on a TV show,” LeRoi snapped at a black TV critic during a panel during a discussion on the lack of black dramas next season. “We all argue about ‘I’d like to see more representation about this and more representation about that.’ But at the end of the day, dude, you got to sell some soap. And if you are not selling soap, they got no interest in you.”
Here’s what I heard from that response: When enough viewers start watching black dramas, television will have no problem putting them in its primetime schedule – because after all, networks will gladly go wherever the ratings are and exploit the concept until people get exhausted from overload and tune out. We saw this with “American Idol” and its spawns CBS’ “Rock Star: INXS/Supernova,” NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” (produced by “Idol’s” Simon Cowell) and ABC’s “The One,” which was cancelled “One” week after its debut because not “One” person tuned in.
Networks copycat successful shows all the time, and it would be naïve to think that television wouldn’t flood their schedules with African American-themed dramas if they could look to one such show that pulled in as many viewers as “CSI” and “Grey’s Anatomy” each week. Now those shows can sell some soap.
The problem is… there are no black dramas next season for networks to use as litmus tests. Execs aren’t willing to take a chance and add them to the schedule. Why? Traditionally, not enough viewers have tuned in each week to justify its space in a lineup. Ultimately, whose fault is that?

from Black America Web
‘Everybody Hates Chris,’ Other Black Shows Already Suffer Ratings Drop on CW
Date: Tuesday, October 03, 2006
By: Monica Lewis, BlackAmericaWeb.com
After a year of critically-acclaimed success that included Emmy nominations and a fast-growing audience, “Everybody Hates Chris” was seen to be the anchor needed to hold down the fledgling CW network.
But if last Sunday’s ratings are any indication, it could be a long season for the new network, as well as the predominantly-black shows that make up its Sunday night lineup.
“Chris,” the brainchild of actor/comedian Chris Rock, was a proven winner in its Thursday night slot last season on the now defunct UPN, but its second season premiere attracted 2.4 million viewers earlier this week -- a nearly 70 percent drop in the number of people who tuned in to watch the sitcom’s debut in 2005.
What a difference a year -- and a new network -- makes. On UPN, “Everybody Hates Chris,” then airing on Thursdays at 8 p.m., proved to be formidable competition for “Joey,” the “Friends” spin-off that was cancelled midway through its second season. This season, the CW has the show beginning a two-hour block of sitcoms kicking off at 7 p.m. where NFL games and CBS’s “60 Minutes” has long reigned supreme.
The remaining shows in the block -- “All of Us,” “Girlfriends” and “The Game” -- also were met with a lukewarm response. “All of Us,” featuring LisaRaye and Duane Martin averaged 2.3 million viewers, while “Girlfriends,” the ensemble cast that is now without the popular character, Toni Childs, made famous by actress Jill Marie Jones, had roughly 2.7 million viewers. Viewers for “All of Us” was down 50 percent, while “Girlfriends” saw slightly more than a 30 percent drop.
And while “The Game” is a sitcom rookie, its debut didn’t fare well, with approximately 2.6 million viewers.

If moving to Mondays causes more people to watch I'm for it-- but personally, I liked the shows being on Sunday. Either way I DVR it so it doesn't really matter what day it airs I suppose- I'll watch Girlfriends whenever.

That's great news! If only they could cancel All of Us and replace it with 1/2 and 1/2. That show grew on me.
Thank goodness for DVR!

I agree- the entire point of All of Us flew out the window with Elise Neal and I really did enjoy Mona, Big & Li'l D, Phyllis and whatever the dad's name was. I was also looking forward to the Joseph Lawrence (sp?) and Li'l De plotline developing.
