The refs may have been WORSE in the Broncos game - seriously, they were terrible.

The Pats beat themselves with turnovers, but if that game would have been close, it should have been a shitstorm . . .

After the Outback Bowl this year, any refs look okay to me. They made the right call on the Pats interception and the Champ Bailey interception return to the one yard line -- although I wish I could've seen the end of the game on tv, but my stupid DVR didn't record the whole thing. It was too hard to see what was happening from where we were sitting.

The Pats didn't beat themselves with turnovers. The Broncos created turnovers and kicked ass.

...except for the Troy Brown fumble. Also, Brady's throw on the Bailey pick was extremely questionable; as much of that goes to him as it does to Bailey.

The Broncos did the job, and their defense (especially Al Wilson) was awesome...but the reffing was beyond bad, especially for a playoff game.

(and before anyone accuses me of being a Pats backer - I'm a Giants fan, so my playoff boat sailed a couple of rounds ago)

Ha, truth - trust me, the refs in THAT game didn't look any better from the 40 at Raymond James . . . simply ugly

hahaha, this is a "six of one" deal - I think the Steelers will take a little better care of the ball next week, though, so the Broncos are going to need more phantom Pass Interference calls (as on Asante Samuel) to pull away . . . Steelers/Broncos might be the best playoff game we've seen all year (yes, better than pitt/indy).

Kinda funny. I talked yesterday to a friend in Seattle who also used to direct NBC Football back when I did.

In the end, the conversation was like, "Oh, yeah. How strange is it that the Broncos and Seahawks might play in the Super bowl" Yawn."

Wierd since we used to be pretty good rivals.

The Seachickens will come home to be roasted...

They've lost Alexander, they've lost other dude 'cuz ass got himself arrested for Orenthaling his girlfriend...

I like Holmgren and hopefully his coaching staff has a good plan to make the game interesting.

But, I'm sorry, the SeaChickens flake at the last minute because the flail to get practice.

The Panthers will have Roasted SeaChicken..

As far as the Steeler Dans and the Broncos. Let's hope folks have enuf oxygen at mile high... When's the last time the Steeler's been to a SB? 1980? Broncos last SB appearance was like 8 years ago...

So like, at least the games might have a decent score--'cuz that's all I care about--a bullisht score like the NY G-men was just a waste of TV space and time...

Alexander and the girlfriend beater are both going to play. however, Alexander has a concussion. All it takes is one good hit, and he is done. Don't look for him to have a big game or anything. Especially against that defense.

1996 was the last year that the Steelers made it to the Superbowl. They lost to the Cowboys

I'm picking Carolina by atleast 10.

And Denver by whatever amount

I don't like Denver (-3) - if anything, buy the point to get it to (-2). This game SCREAMS 'ended by Elam field goal' for Denver to win. Think about it like this - if the Steelers control the ball (and thus the clock), the Denver defense may actually get out-physical'ed.

Remember that Denver beat the Pats by actually beating the piss out of them - they laid more hits on Brady in that game than he'd taken all season. Roethliskjfladjkhvl;j isn't as susceptible to taking those shots, plus he's a MUCH smaller part of the game plan. Add to that a secondary filled with great players who may have lost a step, and Denver also might prove vulnerable to the patented Cowher Trick Play In Third Quarter (R). If the Steelers get a lead, I expect Denver fans to puke as Plummer begins heaving the ball downfield into coverage - as Troy Polamalu and Joey Porter start driving hard at the QB. Pittsburg's run defense has looked VERY good the last couple weeks.

The Carolina pick isn't bad, but I think a lot of public money is going on the Panthers - I think I might just fade the public and take the favorite here (things that usually don't go together at all) . . . honestly, Alexander is a non-entity in this game for me. Simmons said it best - would any Seattle fans really rather have Hasselbeck hurt over Alexander? Obviously not . . . also, the Bears dropped 21 on the Panthers last week - the best o-line in football might lead to 300 on the ground and 42 points this week. Can the P's put up 39 to cover?

I'm having a hard time rooting against the Steelers. Especially with them having Troy. I picked Denver to win, but I wouldn't be upset with the Steelers won.

Denver is closer to Cali though. Hmmm. But the Steelers have Troy, and Joey Porter. Hmmm Bill is my favorite coach too. HMMMM

Valk is super funny . BUt I have a crush on Kddanni. HMMMM

A Plummer clutch is what worries me most. He's had a pretty good year, but the memories of just what you say weighs heavily on my mind.

From an email I received:

Gov. Bill Owens has proclaimed Jan. 20 to be "Orange Friday," in honor of the AFC Championship football game on Sunday, 1 p.m., between the Denver Broncos and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The proclamation reads:

Whereas, the Denver Broncos systematically destroyed the defending Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs, 27-13; and

Whereas, the Denver Broncos are 9-0 in the formidable confines of Invesco Field at Mile High, where 76,238 avid fans drowned the Patriots' quest for a third straight title in a sea of orange and blue; and

Whereas, now poised to inflict a similar defeat upon the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Denver Broncos are one win away from a Super Bowl date in Detroit; and

Whereas, the Denver Broncos host the AFC Championship Game in the Mile High City for the first time since 1999; and

Whereas the State of Colorado encourages all Broncomaniacs to wear orange this Friday in support of the Denver Broncos as they welcome the Pittsburgh Steelers to 5,280 feet above sea level, and take the next step on the road to Super Bowl XL;

Now Therefore, I, Bill Owens, Governor of the State of Colorado, do hereby proclaim January 20, 2006, ORANGE FRIDAY in the State of Colorado.

GIVEN under my hand and the Executive Seal of the State of Colorado, this nineteenth day of January, 2006

Bill Owens
Governor
